7/11/09 Warminster, PA autocross

I know this is kind of short notice but I myself just found out about it.

Theres going to be an autocross on Sunday, July 11th in Warminster, PA which is like 10 minutes away from Northeast Philly. You can race a stock car or a car with mods, it doesn't matter.

Registration if your not a SCCA member is $30 + $15 for a weekend membership. So not being a member pretty much costs $45. The good thing is that you can use those $15 towards your actual membership if you decide to join after the event. To become and actual member it costs $80.

Warminster is a nice open field, the place was an airstrip a while ago but is now a closed park which the region uses to hold autocross events. I've been there before and its a lot of fun and challenging.

Im making this post to invite some of you people to come out and have fun.

It's Saturday (today), not Sunday. Also, i just checked the website, registration is already closed. I might swing by to watch though.

TalonTsi97 07-11-2009 09:53 AM

I may swing by to see who's out. Got work later so can't stay to long.

jcr557 07-11-2009 10:18 AM

ohh yea, my bad. i thought it was sunday cause they're always sunday. my fault. but you can still register on site. dunno about now cause it already started though.

Spacepope 07-11-2009 01:01 PM

Yeah, I meant it was already too late in the day and registration was closed on-site. I swung by for a bit and took some pics:

I worked at the retirement community right behind there lol Anns Choice as an EMT. I didn't look to see what was going on out there today. I've never been to one though. I've always worked when they have it.

It is hard to see how close your are to the cones from the bumper cam. You did the turn around totaly wrong, you left a good amount of time there. I am broke also, but I have a co-driver that buys the tires:mrgreen:

I kept messing that turn up big time. I was swearing pretty hard through that turn. Should take it like a late apex...right? Think next event iI am going to have you ride shotgun.

Problem I am having is that these crap tires are not consistent, even less than the driver. Makes the car unpredictable. Ran some Azenis at Citizens Bank Park....a tire of the past. And it was so much better than the cheap chinese tires I pretty much use 24/7. Was the only time I had some decent rubber and I certainly performed 3-4 seconds faster and trophied. Wheels and Tires (dedicated to track and autox) are my next purchase

Im looking to do my first one relatively soon. ive been reading into it and watching youtube videos and what not to get an idea. im rather nervous. i gotta get the car more setup though.

Charged SVTF 07-13-2009 07:16 AM

Just go out and run. Seat time is 100x better than watching videos. Your first time out, you never need a car hooked up.

i guess thats true. I should probably fix my fuel pressure regulator though haha. cant afford that **** at the moment :(

No problem, just come find me. You should ask around for somebody looking to get rid of some old tires, they will usualy just give them to another racer so they can get some use out of them.
