Karting @ NJMP
I'm organizing a karting extravaganza at NJMP, but need to get an idea of interest. I've attached a poll that will give me an idea of what I need to set things up for. I know times are tough and the economy sucks, people are trying to save money by cutting back...but this is going to be WELL worth it. Participation determines the length of the course we run.
F1 NJMP Race Pricing Arrive and Drive: $25.00 Includes all racing attire, race safety briefing, and a 15-lap race on a Club Track. A Day License or Seasonal License is required. Mini Grand Prix: $80.00 Day License and all equipment will be provided. Groups of 8-12 will be racing on one of the Club Tracks. Event will consist of (3) 10-lap races followed by a 12-lap final. Groups of 13-18 will be racing on one of the Pro Tracks. The race format will consist of (3) 8-lap races followed by a 10-lap final. Day License: $10.00 An F1 NJMP Day License is required for any individual booking an Arrive-and-Drive race. The Day License is valid for the entire day. (Upgrade is available) http://njmp.com/images/cartconfig2.jpg Option 1: Arrive and Drive on 7/26 - $25 (+$10 for license if needed) Option 2: Mini Grand Prix on 7/26 - $80 Option 3: Arrive and Drive on 8/2 - $25 (+$10 for license if needed) Option 4: Mini Grand Prix on 8/2 - $80 Option 5: Arrive and Drive - Date doesn't matter - $25 (+$10 for license if needed) Option 6: Mini Grand Prix - Date doesn't matter - $80 Option 7: I will sit this one out |
I'm so down, but I think that mini grand prix sounds so much more fun. How fast are they?

I'm down.

I chose 6 but it has to be a Sunday for me to be able to come.
|
The 26th is the only one that works for me, Plus it the day before my Birthday so i'm sure it's a go. I choose option 2!

i chose 6 but sunday would be better for me aswell and the 2nd is the OC car show so its a no good for me
|
I am totally in, but I would need to have it later in August. Even 1 week later would work!
|
The brakes on those karts suck... But besides that it's kinda fun...
|
the mini gran prix setup sucks. you do 10 laps and then wait for another group of people to go, then you go again and wait, then again and wait, etc. they should do it all at once. i tried setting up something before other than the gran prix but there was no interest. but for kicks i would do option 2.

I'll try to make any date. I weigh like 8 pounds so I'll win unless Tim smashes into me.

s2ki had a meet here last month! i think we had 30 people come through, so there were 2 groups. it worked out perfectly since it was hot out, and the 15-20 minutes down time between runs lets you bs with your group.
40-45 mph is about what they do though. this plus no seatbelt = you better hunker down around turns cuz u'll feel it. I got royally fcuked the last run cuz I had my seat slid forward and the dude locked it in place, but right when the race started, my seat slid all the way back!!! I was running on my tippy toes and arms outstretched for 12 laps cuz i didnt wanna pit lmao i was so ****en sore on the ride home  overall it was hella fun. we all did the one that's $80 bucks btw. i'd say it's worth it. some karts are a bit faster than others. pick wisely lol http://www.s2ki.com/gallery/image/medium/632980.jpg http://www.s2ki.com/gallery/image/medium/632970.jpg the Stig himself!.....not http://www.s2ki.com/gallery/image/medium/632984.jpg http://www.s2ki.com/gallery/image/medium/633004.jpg track coordinators :P http://www.s2ki.com/gallery/image/medium/632981.jpg |
I'm interested but the dates are no good for me. LMK next time around.
|
if you guys do it let me know i work at njmp. i cant hook you guys up or anything but i guess it would be cool to watch you guys race and hang out for a bit. spend the $80 its way more track time
|
I have to sit this one out assuming that when selecting "date doesn't matter" would mean that its still either going to be the 26th or the 2nd. I am busy on both days. however, I REALLY want to get to something like this someday
