My home made ring flash
 

So I made this for about... 30 bucks, maybe less.

It just takes time and patience. I didn't feel like spending 300 on a ring flash so I went to home depot and just made this bad boy.

I'll show some test shots in the coming days. But it will mainly be used for portraits and things like that.

Im just curious to how effective it is. Who cares what it looks like, as long as it serves its purpose. For 30 bucks, i dont expect much, but im not gonna make an assumption. I think its pretty clean for something made at home.

I'm gonna send some pictures to the strobist site and send some sample pictures in the upcoming days, maybe mr. hobby will be interested.

I'd like to see instructions on how you did it. Looks like an aluminum gutter elbow.

very quickly,

inner circle is a 4" pvc pipe coupler
outter circle is a cut down hose thingy
the front and the back are plexiglass I cut down then sanded
the tube is gutter stuff but its plastic so its a little bit easier to work with
