Nitrous NOS ZEX n2o
What is it...?
More power for your motor in a bottle. How does it work...? It provides more oxygen to your motor. Along with more fuel nitrous will cause a stronger combustion and therefore more power. I like the Zex kit for the little bit of extra power. The Zex kit I have takes input from your ecu and throws a measured amount of nitrous into the motor at the same time adding more fuel to the motor. For a lot of nitrous then a NOS wet kit is a good choice by adding a separate line for fuel. Agree, disagree, discuss.... |
If I was going to go with Nitrous it would definetly be a wet system. There is less of a chance of running lean. Doesn't nitrous help in cooling the charge air also?
|
Nitrous is stored in liquid form cause it is under a lot of pressure. Sprayed into the intake nitrous is very cold and does indeed help with cooling. But it goes one step further... when it breaks down into nitrogen and oxygen molecules in the motor it actually pulls heat out because it takes energy to break bonds.
Just like running boost or a bigger displacement motor you need to add fuel. In that sense all power adders work the same way. It is in fact the ability to burn more fuel that makes the power and not the devices themselves. |
the venom kit is by far the best kit out i believe and it does the same as the zex as far as takin measurement from your ecu and all

ZEX is MADE better, cant go wrong w/ either one though, BUT they good for a stock car. I would not put that ZEX/Venom computer on any car if it already has a tune and it makes alot more than stock...it throws the tune off...waaaaay off...lol
The BEST Nitrous company is NX.....http://216-55-160-25.dedicated.abac....con_winkle.gif |
Since I really wasn't sure how NO2 worked, I looked it up on howstuffworks. Here's a quick explanation for any other nitrous n00bs like me.

Nice Info thanks MuddyREX! Anyway I have heard a lot of good things about NX, but I haven't done much research on the opic, but I hope to soon with the rebuild!
