My new Matte Black paint
This is a rattle can job I did a couple weeks ago. Cleaned it and snapped some pics. No wax, no PP, just right off the camera. Hope you like.
Don't mind all the dents, bondo work FTL HAHAH (These are all clickable for high-res. I can't figure out how to make the clickable thumb any bigger in photoshop settings, so please work with me.) http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5157.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5156.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5158.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5159.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5160.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5161.jpg Now I'm gonna see what happens when I hit it with this ... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5165.jpg Thanks for looking hope you like! I can link you to my write-up on the rattle can process if anyone wants! :supz: ---Ryan |

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2-IMG_5172.jpg thanks guys. oh about the 99 headlights, I actually like the glass better for the HIDeeeeeeeeesse :p |
that came out GREAT. what paint did you use??
|
My basic process:
-320grit wetsand -Duplicolor Black sandable primer -Duplicolor Black Acrylic Gloss -800grit wetsand -Krylon / Rustoleum Matte Clear I miss Easton! It's been years.. :) |

it looks awesome and the only thing i would change is i wish the hood were matte black too.
|
That hood is actually OEM off a black car in Easton (GZP, thanks Hans!!). Then it was hailed on. I have a damaged fiberglass vented hood waiting for repair, then I'll paint it to match and put it on. So bear with me about the hood, it's a piece of JUNK! haha
|
i kinda like the hood actually. it's a good look.
|
I like it a lot.
The carbon/shiny hood disrupts the hell out of the flow though. |
whats with the lawn chair in your car hahah?
the car looks dope man.... I love the 99 front end. |

Dunno if I told you, but your car is teh sex. I might have to go with satin black if I end up repainting my car. |
Looking great as usual ryan. How do you like the new tires?
|
I agree with the hood needing to be matte as well, but if its a work in progress that's cool. The only other thing I would suggest is black rims.
Good job with the paint job! |
I like it
|
Kenny I managed to get rid of my old seats for some grey cloth N/A seats, they look much better and took 30lbs off the car which is nice. Of course the racing Wal-Mart lawn chair saves even more weight HAHAHA.
Matt whats up man?!? Haven't had a chance to really test out the new tires yet. How's the SOLO season going?? You back on LI? Oh yeah I'll be in Brooklyn Tues-Weds this week, you around? CherryBomb yeah man def it's a work in progress until the hood's taken care of. It's funny people either like the gloss hood or hate it. But I've been running the gloss for a while so it's time to see how the matte looks with the new hood. About the wheels, I dunno what I'm gonna do. I like them silver for now cuz it disrupts the whole 'murdered out' thing, you know, but I dunno. |
