Hard Choice, Help me decide

My mom gave me two choices about what to do with my car....

Option 1: Get the tranny rebuilt, and don't touch it drive it until I graduate (June) and then buy something new, most likely an 06 Si or 06 Spec-V.

Option 2: Get tranny rebuilt and put some money into it (Suspension, Engine Mods) and drive it for a little while

Pros For option 1: I get a new car when I graduate.
Cons For Option 1: I'll have to drive it the way it is now (no drop, ****ty handling)

Pros for Option 2: I save some money, and I get to mod the car and make it faster which will be fun.
Cons For Option 2: Ill Have to drive this thing for a little while and more stuff is highly likely to go wrong with it.

Heres the thing...I love the car the sleeper effect is awesome I love suprising people, But it has a lot of problems, and I don't know if I would be able to trust it as a daily driver. I'd love to buy a bunch of suspension and engine **** and make this car an autocross/drag beast (mid-low13's N/A is my goal). But I really want a new car it would be my first new car and It would be kind of good knowing that If anything happens its under warranty.

New Si, hands down.

Chair-Force 12-09-2005 03:31 PM

Id say new car but unless you want void a brand new warranty, decent hp mods arent an option.
The SI is a decent car but it's not exactly "fast".

yeah if your worried about having a warranty and things covered if they break the new is where its at but if u mod the car even a cai ive heard of blowing the warranty

92talonTSI 12-09-2005 05:55 PM

well you can keep your civic and mod it along with the rest of the world
or you can get a new SI and impress the ladies and your friends.

also the SI is alot faster and aloter more modern... you would most likely be happier with a new SI...i know i would

TurboTagTeam 12-09-2005 06:19 PM

girls are not impressed by hondas. Most thought mine was "to bouncy" or "to loud". But If it's not "bouncy" or "loud" they are no fun. Do you really think you'r gonna buy an Si and keep it stock?.......nope

Keep you'r car...That thing kicks ass

Man, I don't know why everyone else has such crappy warranty's, but Saturn won't void em unless they can prove that the part you added is what caused the malfunction. AKA: Very hard to void.

Anyway, I'd go with the new car. Having your throttle cable snap every week is a pain in the butt, along with other miscellaneous things that go wrong.

I'm guessing because 99.99999993% of Saturn owners don't put performance mods on their car???
Just a wild guess.
