Restaurant Ideas For a Date - Philly

Alright, i have a date Wednesday night and need some ideas of nice Italian restaurants in Philly. Money really doesn't matter, but $100 plates are probably out of the question. Center City, Old City, w/e. I really don't know the nice restaurants around here so that's why i'm asking you kids. Thanks.

The water works restaurant near the art museum is awesome. Or any place thats a byob. I think the perfect upscale not quite expensive italian restaurant is viggianos in Conshy.

Anyone ever been to Tre Scalini?

Depending on if she's in the mood for something different, try Fez on South street - real chill place and the meal portions are good for 2. Its a Morrocan (sp?) style restaraunt and you eat with your hands - its not romantic, but it definitely has a unique sense to it and the 7 course dinner gives you plenty of time to talk.

If you want to take her someplace exotic and she likes meat, try Zod. Buffalo, Ostrich, Kangaroo, whatever - always makes for a good dinner discussion.

Best pizza on the planet.

Not Italian, but Rouge on 18th and Chestnut rules. Good Dog Bar on 15th is good too.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I pretty much checked out every one. I tried Vetri, but it was booked up already. So i went with Osteria.

I've been seeing the girl for a few weeks, so the poon side isnt really an issue. She's going back to Ireland in two weeks so i just wanted to take her our somewhere real nice before she left.

Well thats even more the reason to make sure you smash it before she goes back, if not it's like throwing money away.

Vetri requires a fair amount of advanced planning unless you either know someone or have a black card.
