thinking of becoming a vendor. anyone have stuff they need sold?

hey guys im thinking of becoming a vendor and starting a new biz. but i want to see if theres any interest. this is mainly for people who work 2 jobs and dont have the time to do it theirselves. i know there are many people who want to get rid of parts they have on ebay or flat out sell them. what i will do is get them sold in a resonable amount of time by first trying fourums(i frequent ALOT) and if they do not sell within a reasonable amount of time(useally about 3 to 6 days) then i will go the ebay route(unless the owner wants to do that first but depending on what it is the fees sometimes get ya). this just isnt for cars,parts,r/c cars(i also restore/build new kits or race setups, do work, and tune),electronics but anything really. i know some people have a price set that is normal or even reasonable but some people want redic. prices (1k for a set of beat dents rotas lol). im thinking 5-7% only if the item sells and some people are thinking why the hell would someone do this and the answer is some people simply just dont have the time. so does this sound like something anyones interested in? if there is enough interest and it doesnt turn out to be a dumb idea then i have no problem paying the fee.

thanks for your time,
alex

Anyone who has enough time to read this has enough time to sell their own parts.

people lose enough on used parts that paying someone else to sell the parts for them just doesnt make sense. besides it really doesnt take that much time or effort. i just dont think there is enough interest to make it feasible.

i know my buddy will be interested. maddddd dirtbike and quad parts

thats sounds like it could work but it just wouldnt. if you have enough time to come on these forums to find out about your "business" then they could sell the parts.

thanks for the feedback but its an idea and manyyyyy people have ebay stores where they sell other peoples stuff. some people dont know or want to use ebay but would pay to have it done. also 5-7% isnt much considering people want quick extra cash now a days and all they have to do is wait for the money and ship the part. ill leave this up if someone is interested.

however those ebay stores, for the most part, now have store fronts. People walk in with their crap drop it off leave their info and forget about it. Those stores are geared for people who are too busy running around from work, to kids soccer practice, and to home to do anything else.

Your idea might have some validity to it however

1. at this point the ebay market is saturated and what would be your hook to bring people to you instead of brand X Bring me your Crap store.

2. you have too much cost at this point to make it effective for you or the private seller. Since you have no front they would have to ship you the part, then you would have to pay to ship it. So now your doubling shipping costs. The key to those stores success is hiding the cost. 6 or 7% commission is a small hit in the pocket. People don't like to do math. But when you tell them they have to pay 13.75 to have it shipped to you and then a 6 or 7% commission i guarantee they pull out the calculators.

It was a great idea 5 or 6 years ago when ebay really started to boom.

sorry man.

it makes sense for me since i have a built turbo civic collecting dust at my parent's house and don't feel like parting it out.

thats the only thing people would have to do is drop it off at the ups store my thing would be taking the time to find a buyer and get it sold. if there is enough interest for this ill become a vendor in the next day or two. also my thing versus the stores is that im sure they want more then 5-7%(depending on the final sale price) basicly all the people have to do is give me the lowest they will take and i will aim to get the customer as much money as i can.
