fuel pump done??

so in the last 9 days i put about 2,500 miles on my s14 w/ a redtop. love the thing and love te fact that its reliable and can go on long roadtrips. saturday night i was going from philly to morgantown West Virginia real late at night. no traffic so i was just cruising at some decent speeds for 300miles wit 1 stop for gas. once i got off the highway in morgantown i realized there was a screaming noise coming from my trunk. i thought i left my laptop on and a key was being hit or somthing but when i leaned back i heard it coming from my pump. it is soo loud that i can here it inside my apartment on the second floor when its parked in my lot. it sounds like a ****ing banshee.
when i take sharp turns it goes silent, and when im accelerating fairly hard its alot quieter.
the car bogged down once when i went wot but other than that i havnt felt anything different.

i was told by the previouse owner they thought it was oem but i didnt think that the s14 fuel pump could flow enough for an sr20.

i already ordered a walboro but i was just wondering if anyone had similar issues.

what have you done to this car? do you have a wideband? You should not have been beating on a car with a fuel pump you thought was bad.

yea its got a wideband and everything looks good.its just a redtop with a ton of bolt-ons. t25 and stock injectors. ive only been running 8psi cuz of all the driving ive been doing. i didnt happen to look at my AFR's right when it bogged out but im sure it ran lean. i havnt been beating on it but i still need to drive this thing cuz its my DD

Should have glanced at the afr thats what its there for.. ive never heard a fuel pump making a sound like that though. i guess once you get the walboro you will know the real problem

The Walbro should clear it up. Might want to change out your filter while you're at it.
