GRASSROOTS Drifting Regional EVENTS!!!

Society of Regional American Drifting

http://www.so-rad.com/forum

What Is SO-RAD?

SO-RAD Stands for the Society Of Regional American Drifting. SO-RAD came about as a necessity. Lets face it the US is a really big place. There are tons of grassroots drifting organizations but nothing tying them all together. Sooner or later you figure who rips and who doesn’t. But then what? After a driver hits hometown hero status they have no where to go. No stepping stone in between Beginner and Professional. They either commit to a National series that might put them in the poor house or keep driving for fun locally.

How does SO-RAD work?

SO-RAD is pretty easy to figure out. Basically you register for your region, normally you pick the region that is closest to you. You are now Locked into that region for the remainder of the points race. Each region will consist of at least 4 track competitions that will be Judged and points will be awarded based on how you finish on the ladder. The region heads will keep track of points and post them after every round. If you chose to drive in another regions event, you can compete and even win. However you do not accrue any points from the other region. The points awarded from the other region do not get added to your overall points. They just disappear. Meaning the drivers from your rival region can not accrue them either.

After the mandatory four SO-RAD Points Events, The top five Drivers will be invited to the SO-RAD final for a top 32 Battle. But wait, the fun doesn’t end there. There will also be a Region Team Drift Event that will pit region against region for all the bragging rights. You may only drive with your regions team to make it even better the teams will only be three of the five drivers. Chosen by the team, amongst themselves.

So now what ?

This series is low stress and low impact. Information, rules, changes etc will be coming out as we get closer to the events. Contact your region head for local info and keep checking up for more information about the SO-RAD FINAL! Location and Dates will be posted once the ink dries!

See you at the track!

Check the CL schedule. It's www.wreckedmagazine.com/mattpetty If I remember right, the weekend events, excluding April 11th, are the point events.

Did you go in the Club Loose region subforum? It's the thread that's called Club Loose 2009 Schedule and Rules (http://www.so-rad.com/forum/index.php?topic=38.0).

And the full So-Rad schedule is posted in "The Deal" section on the website and on the main site, www.so-rad.com. Just click the tab that says schedule.
