Saw a truck pulled over yesterday on the GSP by a trooper in a unmarked maroon Dodge Durango. I would have never guessed. I almost shat myself.. watch out be aware...

I take the parkway everyday to get to work. I'll be on the look out from now on, thanks!

i hate the police, they are always looking to get an upper hand

I saw a minivan pull someone over on 95 in PA before...luckily my Passport saw him before I did.

I'll add a few gold Chrysler Seabring convertibles to this list. They are unmarked PA police cars with NY plates pulling people over in PA.

My dad was explaining that to me when I asked him...something politician has a connection to someone in NY and can get the cars cheaper...provided they're registered in NY...it's kinda like a lease program for unmarked cars.

For those wondering...There are unmarked Sebrings, older 300M's, Taurus's, Expeditions, Explorers, Excursions, and a few unmarked Impala's in Philly.

Maryland has unmarked Saleen Mustangs...I almost crashed when I saw that thing blow by me with lights on.

Silverfc88 03-28-2005 08:10 PM

^ I would poop myself if I saw a Saleen pulling over someone

Yeah I love down south they have z28 cop cars that rip by ya :)

leeden 03-28-2005 11:39 PM

I consider this a bad idea. There have already been many instances where motorists have been robbed because they pull thinking these unmarked cars are real state troopers. If it ever happens to me, I'm calling 911 for a real cop before I pull over.

stichris 03-28-2005 11:41 PM

Yeah, I don't know how comfortable I'd be about stopping for one of these. NY has front plates, if I remember correctly. If I was in PA, and saw a front plate on a car with strobes, I would not stop.

Silverfc88 03-28-2005 11:56 PM

Good point. I forgot about that guy in the caprice faking to be a cop.

DropTopChevy 03-29-2005 03:23 PM

Pigs

ive seen them Z-28 cops in north carolina and ive seen them in fox body mustangs, but as for unmarked sebring convertables i would have never thought about that. im usually good at picking out unmarked cops (impalas, intrepids, caprices, crown victorias, and several domestic SUV's but i would have just blown by a sebring convertable not thinking twice. Now if they had a V6 camaro convertable id say dont even bother slowing down cause it will take them a few minutes to even catch up with you.

Good thing you never exceed the posted speed limit. Bish.
