Campout for Hunger Can Food Drive, 12/07/05
 

WMMR is having a can food drive @ the Metroplex Shopping Center the 1st week of Dec (I think). Y100 used to do this and gave out free stuff to people that dropped canned goods off. I got a Sonic Sessions CD from them one year and a gift certificate another year. There really isn't a need to raid your shelves b/c there is a grocery store (Giant?) close by that puts together $10 bags for people.

I though if we got enough people to do this and went in as an organized group, someone could get some radio time to plug this website. As a grand prize, they give out live broadcasts for the largest single donation from a high school or a business. I don't think we can drop off a few thousand lbs. to beat them, but you never know.

Come on people, it's the holidays. Think of all of the less fortunate people out there. What's $10 to you anyway?

im totally with you on this man i got some money i could spare. come on people what do u say? he does have a good point to it could help get the site out there.

In fact, why not have the meet there Thursday night and have everyone bring something. I'm sure that would be a big hit.

i agree with the thursday night idea- from what i have heard on the radio, you do need to bring it all at once... let's get on this- i won't be over that way much but i'll be sure to make it happen- let's organize it!

i'm suppoesed to get my license back on the 7th i think, so i might even be able to make this. I wanted to go last year but never got a chance, i wanted to drop off some food then stay for the "Lost" viewing party that they had in the parking lot

Nothing is really set yet. Just trying to get something started, but we only have 2 full weeks to get something together.

We can meet in the parking lot like the Nasioc people, buy some bags, and then head over, but I think we can do a lot better than 10-12 cars. Depending how big this gets, maybe someone should email them that week and let them know an invasion is planned...
