Road course at e town???
 

has anyone seen the road course over at raceway park in englishtown, it looks pretty fun, i'm trying to find out when it will be open. If and when it opens, we should have a track day or something, i prefer turning the steering wheel a little bit anyways!!!

There are still rumors floating around that you need a cage to run there. No solid answers though.

We don't know when it will be open. Club loose is looking to maybe get on it next season. BUt we're still not sure if it will require a Cage or not.

It's not for cars. Only bikes and karts and such. I was super excited when I first heard about it. Then really bumbed when I found out that it wasen't for cars.

WE've already had talks with E-town. They are letting us on it, but I think there there are restrictions. Like we have to put some Chokies in to keep the speed down since there are no run-offs.

Really???? Did not know this. It looked kinda sketchy to run around that thing with a car but, shoot I'll give it a go if i'm allowed.

Road course? That thing looks like a bicycle path.
It appears flat, why bother?
It is close by for $hits and giggles I guess.

It would be a nice legal place to learn how to drift.

Interesting point, provided they've made provisions that day for a drifting session. However, the parking lot they have would be a good place to start, with a bunch of cones-skidpad, figure eights. There's no need for perhaps the 90% of the rest of the road course if all you want to do is lay rubber down.

Then there are perhaps rumble strips on either sides of this course, unless everyone that day has great car control I can't imagine people drifting over strips on either side of the road if they are novices and liking the results.

OOOOOHHH SWEET!!! How come they haven't said anything on the site? oh yeah cuz of all of the pointless threads that go on there. But that is sweet I really hope I can get in on the road course sometime

It says on the site it should be open in spring 2006 or atleast it did last time i looked. I was super stoked when i had the civic cause that little track is perfect for it and now i got the 2.5 so i dont know if its gonna get tracked.

i've been teased by this thing for about 3 years now... i gave up hope.

IMO-I would look elsewhere if you want a real road course. :cool:

Yea seriously, the road course will be a cool technical drift track but for normal nose heavy street trim cars and especially fwd cars it will be boring as hell. All low speed understeer city stuff you can do at any auto X

And because NJ legislators hate all motorsports you'll need a full cage with door bars to make it on the track.

where is a roadcourse near by?

I believe Rausch Creek is the closest. If they are still open.

I'm not from NJ, nor do I know the Mid-Atlantic tracks well--so I can't figure out the distances too well, but off the top of my head in the northeast:
