for sale section: pictures required

just a suggestion, it should be a requirement to have pictures for all items for sale or trade. every other forum i have been to or am a part of, it is a requirement. and i absolutely hate when i express interest in an item somebody is selling, and they tell me to PM them. i guess it's just an inconvenience, especially for people who don't have a lot of time to be sitting on a message board all day. it would definitely help the sale of the item too.

sooo, just putting it out there.

lownslow95 01-21-2009 10:25 AM

Yeah, I agree. I also hate it when people say they will get pictures in 5 minutes, and they never get them or come back.

FWD2AWD 01-21-2009 11:11 AM

i havent been on here in over a year...where did the for sale section go??

Karnag3_0kc 01-21-2009 11:29 AM

^^^Agreed. How can you sell something people cant see? its pretty much like selling idea's, hope's, and dream's..

If you have less then 25 posts you are unable to see the FS section.

I do agree it's annoying when someone doesn't have pictures or says they will email them to you but I don't know about making it a rule.

How about for each day there are no pictures posted, a different TST moderator will flog them with a 18" double ended dildo by the number of dollars they are asking for? I'm just putting that out there.

jdm free 01-21-2009 01:14 PM

requiring pictures for somethings are stupid. like people selling video games and stuff, u really need to see what that looks like?

put in the car f/s its definitely a good idea

CHAOS 01-21-2009 01:22 PM

agreed, certain things just dont require pictures...

So I could beat you 30 times for this? http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...ad.php?t=54927

I definitely could see requiring pictures for a car fs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! ! LMFAO!@!!

If we're going to be specific, that was posted for a total of 297 days without any pics posted. So that means you guys are going to have to switch on and off for almost an entire year and each flog me 30 times.

You better get that double sided dildo you have all warmed up for me. Wait, who am I kidding...that baby never gets cold!!!

ericnjttz 01-21-2009 02:19 PM

i dont agree. If youre really interested in the car go look at it.....i bet half these people posting in this thread have no interest or intent on buying a car for sale on this forum in the near future

it may be hard to believe but some people might not have a camera to use. or the know how to upload pics. so therefore they shouldnt be allowed to sell their car?...no thanks.

As i do believe pictures will help the car sell faster i dont believe they should be mandatory in posting a for sale ad

FazdaGt 01-21-2009 02:25 PM

Selling a vehicle takes effort.

It you're asking $10 for it i'll take it sight unseen, but i'm not gonna drive several hours to look at a pile of ****.

If you can't take ten minutes to snap some pics and upload them, buying your car becomes a ton less appealing to me.

If there's a good deal posted, I'm always interested in buying it.

If you're too lazy to take a few photos, how well did you care for that car?

biz 01-21-2009 02:45 PM

i wasn't referring to the cars for sale specifically, i think everything in general should require a picture. but cars 100% should require pictures.

absolutely. there is no way in hell that i would buy a used video game from a message board without pictures. actually, i don't think i would buy anything without a picture. and i'm sure there are plenty of other people who think the same way.

but i think making it a "rule" to post pictures of things for sale will greatly increase the success of sales, and decrease the number of BUMPS!

SkinnyGT 01-21-2009 03:40 PM

Every for sale item should be posted in a picture. In every picture a piece of paper with the seller's user name written down should also be included. I mean anyone can pull a picture off the internet and say they're selling something. Honestly, I've witnessed guys run off with thousands of dollars for parts they don't even have. Who's to say it won't happen here?

SkinnyGT 01-21-2009 03:44 PM

::::::Quick guidelines for the impatient or short attention span::::::

-Put a 'FS:' or 'WTB:' in your title.
-Picture of the item with a written proof of ownership is REQUIRED. The picture MUST be present as soon as the thread is posted.
-Price is REQUIRED, state whether it includes shipping or not.
-No 'TI' or 'Taking Interest' thread.

That will never happen here. Plain and simple.

Sr20.SES 01-21-2009 03:52 PM

I cant stand when people dont put pictures no matter what it is. Its not like its hard to put pics up.

Why? Are people too lazy around here to write their name down and take a picture?

"Oh I don't have a digital camera, waaa waa..." It's 2009, how is that possible?

Sr20.SES 01-21-2009 04:28 PM

If you have less then 25 posts you are unable to see the FS section.

^^Is this a new rule or something because I always used to be able to see the FS section and now i cant?

I'm not exactly sure when it started, but it hasn't always been around.

On topic: I don't agree with this. I've sold plenty of items without pictures because there are just some times where pictures aren't needed. And what about people who are doing large part outs? You expect them to take a picture of 50+ items before he can make his post?
