Same, that's exciting as hell. Congrats, I'm sure you'll let us know how things go once it's on.

Good luck with it. Ive thought about going taht route, but I dont have to right yet. I think I might go full standalone next year.

Well I got it for a pretty decent price and if I sell my current tuning set up for asking price it's half the cost of this DSMLink set up. I want to get the most out of my 14B and with the help of a fellow DSM'er this is the best route by far. It also helps b/c when I go with a bigger turbo/injectors it's just a simple click to change everything.

I am definately excited about it thanks!

Its pretty much the same as turbolink for the Grand Nationals, correct? Turbolink plugs into a laptop via serial connection, this pretty much the same?

Why didn't you go the route of the scanmaster?

Maybe I am really stupid but isn't the purpose of a scanmaster to check for CEL codes then clear them?

DSMLink is like Hondata and it's an stand alone system. It incorporates anti-lag and it's $400-500 less then AEM's EMS. It also has a built in wideband and other misc. features.

Edit: Oh yea and now I can run a BOV (100% atmospheric) and no MAF/MAS so I can be ultra cool! :cyberguy:

false advertisement!! :-p

TehWagon 11-09-2005 03:51 PM

you see, when S says 'my teaser' it is drawing similarity from ralph's post about his 'teaser'... i don't remember him getting this much crap...

Intercooled T 11-09-2005 03:53 PM

Scanmaster is used to monitor CEL codes, monitor and record engine stats, a/f, blm, 02's, knock retard, mph/rpm, cc, ats, iac, tps, etc...so your system incorporates a maf translator as well? or just gives you the ability to not run one?

i can't clear codes...i wish. can yours?

What she is clearly trying to imply is that I am not an attention whore and I don't go around posting lude pictures of myself. Why should I when the great members of TST photo chop those for me?!!? J/K

Man, you guys are lucky. I usually make people pay for my teasers (meaning I act really stupid and pretend I know nothing about cars when someone lines up next to me).

Right, DSMLink does all that and lets me alter any settings on the ECU (fuel, timing, anti-lag, etc). Not only can I eliminate the MAF translator (hence me being able to be 100% atmoshperic) but I can also clear codes with it.

I can't wait until someone next to me asks,
Person: "Hey! What's the laptop for?"
S: *really stupid look* "It's for my DVD's! :o "

Intercooled T 11-09-2005 04:10 PM

nice, that's pretty nifty. i gotta pay extra for a maf translator :( mind if i ask what those bad boys go for?

Well I picked up the EPROM ECU/DSMLink combo for $600. DSMLink by itself runs $595 (they socket your ECU), but you have to have an EPROM ECU (which I don't). And EPROM ECU's run between $200-275
