Spotted: White EVO RS (pa tags) SMOKED an '03 COBRA
 

Went to the Sunday night meet in NE Philly last night and saw a white EVO RS smoke this guy in a 2003 Cobra not once...but 2 times just to prove a point. The guy in the Cobra actually made up the excuse that his supercharger "wasn't charged" the first time...so he ran him again...and beat him again. It was pretty embarrassing for the Cobra being beaten by 4 lengths.

All I can say is "w00t".

Wonder what he has done, because I am still scared of Cobras.

i saw a white EVO RS yesterday on 611. thought it was mike....but the bumper was intact.

Actually there was an RS at the TSD school from MD, so it might have been him if he took 309 to 611. He was headed home to Baltimore.

if it was on 611...it was probably him. he's from the doylestown area. There were 2 silver VIII's, a yellow VIII, a blue VIII, and the white RS. It was fun running around with that many Evo's. There was another kid in a mustang who just wouldn't give up on trying to race an Evo...even after the Cobra got smoked. The funniest part of it...he has a black GT with a red Cobra R kit on it and import mufflers. And i think the kit was intentionally painted red because there is red overspray on his gas tank...who would do such a thing?

Cobras are FAST. With mods, they are INSANE. I drove a ~450whp cobra back on the AKA Rally, last June. It's retarded how torquey they are.

I raced a modified one a while ago, when I just had a cat back on my sti. I had him to 60, with a launch, but then he passed me hard as hell ;)

Cobra's are great. I love getting beat by them and i love beating some of them too. If they have exhaust and intake its usually a really good race. Chip and pulley forget it.

If that cobra had any work done to it....he would have walked that evo..

I believe it. If the cobra owner thought the supercharger was battery powered the chances of him having ANY mods is extremely slim. With a decent launch the RS would probably still have an edge. Any mods seal the deal.

Yeah i defintely dont know but i know exhaust, pulley, and chip that cobra would have murdered that...let alone a set of DR's and gears would be even nastier

It may have been one of those recall 03/04 Cobra's. Ford is having a problem keeping the boost fluid in its reservoir. So maybe his supercharger wasn't charged?

The Cobra has an intake, exhaust and pulleys from what I heard.


There were PLENTY of witnesses there to see it get beat. The kid in the RS really knows how to launch that car. I'm just shocked he has a stock clutch with 22000 miles on it and launches it from 6K

Really??? Thats why some of the cobra's factory freaks have run 12.9's-13.1 stock.... The evo rs runs at best 13.3

Now lets see 390HP Stock. PLUS Exhaust, chip, intake. Bang Low to mid 12's no problem.
