DPancoast 12-06-2008 01:06 PM

he's saying it because he's on his way out.

no one gives a **** what he thinks anymore, and he's just throwing his weight around before the exit.

den9 12-06-2008 01:28 PM

if i was leaving the white house and everyone hated me id do something historical, like have an orgy in the oval office live on cnn

97TurboDSM 12-06-2008 01:46 PM

and thats why you'll never be president

mikes7ke 12-06-2008 02:39 PM

Well one reason, anyway.

He realizes that if he doesn't do it...Obama will and will get ALL the credit. He can't have the most dominant aspect of his presidency be sealed by another person. Makes plenty of sense to me.

james_ls 12-06-2008 07:44 PM

Makes sense.

Starcraft 2 comes out soon.

He needs to FOCUS.

DPancoast 12-06-2008 07:47 PM

^ LOL thats hilarious.

he wasnt a bad president. people loved him when we first went to iraq and afghanistan when he had the highest approval rating of any president at 97% if i can recall correctly

He was popular because we had a budget surplus which he used to leverage a tax cut. Which administration left us a budget surplus? Clinton. Which president destroyed that surplus by jumping into a war we couldn't win? Bush. The president's approval rating should only be looked at right now. Any president would have chased Bin Laden into Afghanistan, so lets not judge him on that, that was an obvious, obligatory decision. He should be remembered for 2,000,000+ lost jobs, a record budget deficit, the biggest recession since the 1930's, etc. This war can never be won in our lifetimes completely. I agree with CHAOS HILARIOUS!

Here's his approval rating over the term:

A national disaster like 9/11 will always bring out the patriotism and nationalism in people, but we all see how quickly that faded as he actually did something about it...

I completely agree. There is no way he could have failed at getting a high approval rating unless he said "lets go talk to Mr.Bin Laden and maybe we can talk him out of his troubles", which we know is not a conservative way of doing things lol.
