Abandoned Railroad Hike, Sunday November 30th.

Saturday, Nov 21st 2009 is the new date.

************************************************** ************************************************** ***

Hello everyone. Just like the titlke says it's for walking the abandoned railroad track on a Saturday morning. Yes, it's a healthy way to spend time, so those of you who don't like anything healthy can stay at home.

We will start in the Lorimer Park's parking lot (183 Moredon Rd, Huntingdon Vly, PA) and will attempt to hike the track all the way to Bybery rd. We will have a car(s) parked at the endpoint of the trip so that it would be a one way trip only.

Things to bring: Bring a thermos with something hot to drink, you will want to drink and it will be cold outside. Bring a couple of sammiches just in case we take too long. Bring a backpack to carry your thermos and sammiches. Wear sturdy footware and be dressed for the weather.

Also, this is a non-smoking trip. There way too many dried leaves along the way, so please understand that there's no need for smokey the pedobear to chase us.

We will assemble in the parking lot at 9:30am and will leave at 10am

Got Insulin? 11-13-2008 09:33 PM

I'll run up for this.

Kerplunk105 11-13-2008 09:35 PM

Yup, I'm in. Depending on how many people show up, my car can hold 5..so if we need to park one at the other end

Are dogs invited?

Roto 11-13-2008 09:37 PM

I don't see why we can't take a dog, however I've never traveled this particular section before, so I don't know if it's a good idea or not...

lownslow95 11-13-2008 09:39 PM

I'm in, but I'm not to familiar with the area.

Roto 11-13-2008 09:45 PM

Closer to the date PM me for my cell and if you get lost I can meet you somewhere on the way.

lownslow95 11-13-2008 09:53 PM

I could also just follow Kerplunk105 to the area, if she doesn't have a problem with that.

non-smoking kills it for me...i can put the cigs out well enough on the tracks

Honduh 11-14-2008 03:10 AM

How exactly are you going to park at the end point? Is it a big circle or something?

Have a few people park at the end point, then have a few people cavaran everyone to start point, walk to end point, have cars at end point caravan back to start point...whats so hard to understand haha

I say everyone has lunch too...like at a diner, will be nice to have warm food after

You can live without it for two hours...last thing we need is a park fire.

If we get lost and have to wander for days without food I guess we could eat the dogs... (Just kidding of course, there's no way to get lost)

Kerplunk105 11-14-2008 11:38 AM
