Dark and Rainy at Core Creek Park
I have a shoot there tomorrow so I went today before it got too dark to check out some spots for it and figured I'd take some pics while i was already out there. Here's some of them for CC please.

I like #10 a lot. Very abstract looking.
Nice work for a dark and rainy day. |
I'm a fan of number 2, I like that a lot.
the only one i really like is #3, the rest just dont do it for me. plain jane subjects is all
Nice pics. I like the feel of #1 and #10 is pretty cool too. How you liking the 5D?
i like that last one, and the rock in #8 looks like a frog/toad at first glance
thanks guys

i dont know why but 1 is probably my favorite even though its a van...then maybe some of the leaf ones. I really only went over to the park to scout out some locations for pics I had to do this morning but I figured I'll bring the camera on my walk since it was only a light drizzle and not too dark yet. So yea, pretty boring subjects but I just wanted to shoot since i havnt really had time to shoot as much as i want for myself. I'm really enjoying the 5d a lot. it makes my 85L a lot more fun to use, esp at f1.2 since the dof is soo shallow and the colors from that combo are great. I also like how wide the 17mm is again, kinda like when i used to have the 10-22...lots of fun to play with the distortion you get. |
you missing the length you had with the 135 on the crop body? its nice to be able to use 17mm as wide, unlike on a crop. i wasnt knocking your photos, they just werent exciting haha, which im sure you werent going for. #3 is almost a natural selective coloring shot and thats why i favored that one.
pretty neat set scott, number one i like, and number eight sticks out at me too.
#3 is perfect. Nice shots man.
thanks guys

I'll be the first to say #9 is my favorite. I really like #1 and #3 too, though.
i like them. #3 is my fav as well. #9 and #1 are nice. and i really like the berries.
I want a 5D...trying to hold out for the mkii but not sure i'm going to wait that long. |

yea that would be great. i'd like to see what the 17mm is like on it. I'm afraid i will loose the wide angle of the 10-22mm by moving up.
its basically almost the same, it is really wide and you can still get a lot of distortion with it just like the 10-22 when i had that lens. heres two quick pretty bad examples but it kinda shows how wide
http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/2971/img6372im1.jpg http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/3843/img6378wr9.jpg i have some pics from core creek at 17mm that are still on my laptop that i'll get off and post that may help show 17mm too. but goin out shooting over that break sounds good to me |
#9 is my favorite, almost has film look going. The BW suits it well.
Having 17mm actually be 17mm is nice huh? Also, I agree it's weird using lenses that you had on crop bodies on FF bodies in that the focus distance seems further away. DOF control is well worth it though :) |
that definitely does seem to do the trick. the 16-35 probably would be ideal for me. although the 17-40 is much more affordable.
Nice pics, #9 is definitely my favorite.
What shoot do you have there?
