cases of motor oil??

i'm starting to do my own oil changes. I just recently realized that my girls Escape and my Focus take the same type of oil. So rather than buying 10 individual quarts each time, where are the best places to buy a case at a time and maybe save a few bucks overall?

Can you get cases discounted at like autozone, advanced, etc??

Pep Boys sells them, Walmart sells them. You can also get those 5-10 quart jugs too.

I would honestly just look into buying a case of whatever you want from any of our vendors.

It's honestly only because I wore my cape to work today.

poisonivory 11-06-2008 01:03 PM

haha thanks fellas! I figured I'd ask here before I went to Pep Boys/Autozone after work. I never noticed if they had cases or not. I'm sure the savings can't be more than a few bucks, but still.

depending on the oil, Walmart has the cheapest. I bought a 5qt jug of Penzoil 10w-40 for my 2nd car for $12 the other day... They also had 10qt cases of castrol gtx for 15 or something.

For my mr2 I catch the deals at advanced when it's mobil 1, 5 quarts and a filter for $28.88 or whatever.. I forget the price.

poisonivory 11-06-2008 01:16 PM

I read about those deals at Advanced, I believe the special they have right now is Castrol GTX. Maybe I'll check walmart for the jugs, because it's right near my house. Can't hurt.

I've never once went to WalMart looking for jugs and been disappointed.

On Topic: If you're just looking for "cheap" oil, then WalMart is probably your best bet. Although Sam's Club/Costco might be a better option for bulk.

No it cant, anytime I have alittle bit of extra cash and i find deals, I like to snag extra for the oil change after the next one or whatever it may be. Just a thought.

Guess I need to go to walmart then. I need to fix the oil leaks in the hatch, I am going through so much oil right now lol.

Why bother fixing it? You don't ever need to do a full oil change if you're always adding new oil. Just change the filter once in a while. LOL

not looking for cheap oil, i was actually looking to a case of mobil1 5w20. This is why I am trying to weigh my options (cases, jugs, buying individual qts). I'll get the base stuff if I have to, but my purpose here is not to get a case of the cheapest crap i can find.

I noticed Sams club has cases, but unfortunately I don't have a memership there. My girl insisted we do BJ's instead. (I KNOW IT'S COMING TWAS...SO LET'S HAVE IT..LOL)

When I said "cheapest", I meant least expensive. Not cheap oil. That's why I put it in quotations.

So let me get this straight...your girlfriend INSISTED on BJ's? Where the **** is the problem here? Do you get to choose when and where? I say go with that option. You can't go wrong with your dick in her mouth. Again, that's just my $.02.

Oakes 11-06-2008 01:30 PM

I love getting BJ's

Seriously though, Bj's is bound to have a selection of bulk oil, I'm trying to remember what brands I saw when I was there last.

poisonivory 11-06-2008 01:33 PM

i was just there the other day and I never even noticed if the one by me has an automotive sections. lol We go there for bulk grub and cleaning supplies and bounce.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll be making some rounds tonight to check it out. Sounds like Walmart might be the ticket, especially if they do have a variety of brands.

Hahaha.

Well to be honest it's leaking through the body of my distributor. I wish I had COP like you nissan guys. :(

poisonivory 11-06-2008 01:36 PM

oh..and who doesn't love getting BJ's? loll good thing about being in a serious relationship....you're always guranteed daily boobage and rather frequent BJ and vajay action. I don't need to worry about going to the bar and taking a chick home. if my chick's not with me, she'll be at home when i get there :)

I'll trade you mine for your MAP set up.

On Topic: If you have a BJ's membership, it may end up being cheaper than Walmart so I'd at least check it out.
