Thumbs up or down? 04-07 STi Gold BBS on 08 STi?

Thoughts?

My "winter wheel" plan is to sell my gold BBS wheels from my old 04 STI (5x100) and get the same wheel but in the right size (5x114.3) from an 05-07 STi. Ideally I can then continue to use the Blizzaks from the old set but I may need to sell them with the wheels to get the best price. (not sure)

I figured while I'm cleaning the old ones to sell I'd place them in front of the wheel on the car and from a distance see what it looks like.

I'm still going through the plan... what do you think? Forgive the quality - I used my phone's camera

Honestly, I think they're better looking than the 350Z knock off wheels that come with it. Looks good.

gold. do it.

Oakes 10-19-2008 04:59 PM

I agree, do it.

you need these. Gold Enkei RC-T4 18x9.5, Chayse has them on his White 08 STi. And they look flipping fantastic.

I like the stockers better, if anything, go for the OEM bbs upgrade wheels for the 08 sti

ndubz 10-19-2008 05:41 PM

I like them. go for it they look good. And tell me about the 08 STI, how do u like it? wats good? wat would u change? Ive been wanting to hear feedback from someone who actually has one, rather than some magazine test.

I have an 04 and i wanna see how they'd compare. thnx

Thanks... The car is dark gray so it should be pretty cool with the gold wheels :)

So far (2 weeks and 900+miles) I'm really digging it! The car feels a little more sophisticated and the steering is def more responsive feeling (compared to my old 04 STi). The suspension gives a little body roll but I had the pinks of the 04 so I may be still used to them. I really like the different drive modes so I can save a few MPGs on the highway to work and drive in either sport or intelligent mode. The hatchback is def nice - I always thought it'd be cool if they made an STi wagon - so I guess now that's all you can get!

I hate the tail lights and ordered the overlays from bluebatmobile to make the majority of the tail light red with the reverse part smoked - I haven't seen that combo so I'm hoping that works out good.

Let me know if you want to drive it... or if you want to talk more about it... I don't want to go terribly far off topic from the thread.

I think some people have missed your point but I agree with you criz, If your blizzaks are in good enough shape to reuse them on a new set of 05+s. I'm sure you could pic a set up pretty easily.

thanks man... I had a typo in my first post so I took care of it - I think it makes more sense now when I say "from the old set" instead of on the old set.

thanks for the opinions guys

i dunno man, I'd take advantage of the width you can go with with an 08. But, if it's just for winter like you said, i don't see why not.

I agree with you... i'm torn too... so I'm also keeping my options open and am looking for 08s too  More so for the 18" wheel to fill it in better... you don't want a wide winter wheel

CarbonIS 10-19-2008 08:09 PM

true dat! which is why i said if it's for the winter than it's fine :) But I agree, I'd look for another set of 08's or get a cheap set of 18's
