I cant friggin believe this crap

Ok so im driving from the meetup at marshalls with a couple of my friends im in 4th gear doing about 50 60 not really pushing it, then i decided to speed up a bit and suddenly my clutch slips like crazy, right after that, it slips through every gear other then 1st, the funny part is, my car has only 3500 miles and barely beat on it, WTFFFFFFF tomorrow im going to the dealer to get this crap straightened out...its so weird though cus today the car was running perfectly fine and i had no problems with the clutch:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

improper break in maybe?

frosti108 10-03-2008 01:51 AM

or maybe oil leaked onto it

I'm down with the impropper break-in, too. Have you beat on is since you had it?

CleanNeon98 10-03-2008 02:11 AM

Yea man less racing would have helped, you can probbably get it done under warranty still

Racersky 10-03-2008 04:50 AM

Isn't subaru one of the automotive dealers that has that weird computer which could tell the tech if you redline the car and how many times you WOT the car as well? or am i thinking of some other car manufacturer

**Alex** 10-03-2008 06:11 AM

For his sake it better be another manufacturer..

Scapegoat 10-03-2008 09:38 AM

most dealerships don't cover clutchs b/c they are a "wear and tear" item...

good luck

Most people who come in with clutch issue on Audi's with less than 30,000 miles and still under factory warranty. We will replace once for free under warrenty if the clutch has been alittle abused, one lady we had come in just didn't know to drive a stick burnt the clutch up on a 3.2 A4, We tell them this is it, if you come back and there any signs of abuse at all. Its not covered. You are stuck with the $3,000 bill.

The only clutch job we haven't warrentied was an 05 S4 30,000 miles, Clutch slipping, Dad bought it, son was driving it. Son came in said the clutch was slipping and the shifter was moving up and down while driving. I went on a test drive with him he said he wasn't sure what happened, 30 seconds later in the test drive he is asking me at what RPM is the proper RPM to launch this car. LOL. So i took the trans out found the Clutch disc fried, pressure plate gone, and flywheel destroyed, and the pass side motor broken in half from launching the car. After seeing the motor mount damage it was real apperant what happened and it couldn't be warrentied. The father was sooo pissed. He almost refused to pay the bill (somewhere around $3,500) but did in the end.

Go into the dealership, be sincere! Don't say anything stupid.

Just throwing this out there: did you try pulling the negative off the battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting it? If it's a learned behavior, then that will reset the computer for it. I'd try it before you bring it in.

Yaa today it was so bad that i barely made it to work, i just decided to not mess with it anymore and take advantage of my free towing...so right now im sitting in my office and waiting for them to call me back...hopefully i can get my car back today....depends on what you call beating on it...every once in a while ill shift at like 4-4.5 , i never redlined the car yet but i did take off pretty hard a couple times, no launches though...but im not making this up it drove perfectly fine yesterday and suddenly out of nowhere it started slipping as if though i had always beat on it

pearl 10-03-2008 02:58 PM

i broke my **** they fixed it holla

SpEcRv9 10-03-2008 03:03 PM

Paul 10-03-2008 03:11 PM

idk what ftl and ftw mean but i think what youre trying to say is i shouldve bought an 09...im perfectly happy with my 08... besides i might be getting rid of it cus im going away to college

redline 10-03-2008 03:16 PM

Com'n man a clutch doesn't go out at 3500. I am very hard on mine and have been to the track alot and have over 30+ launches and my stocker is still holding, never slipped. And Evo clutches suck! You must really drive that thing hard, launch all the time, or ride the clutch. Sorry about your clutch but at 3500 you will more than likely pay the bill on this one.

Paul 10-03-2008 03:22 PM

thats the thing though i never launched once, i know how to drive so thats not an issue and no i dont drive it that hard most of the time im at speed limit shifting at 2 1/2 to save gas

OBEEWON 10-03-2008 03:29 PM

Sounds like you got your canooting valve up against your flywheel, and well...thats gonna cost ya.
