Protein vs. Vitamins for workouts
Ok, was at the local GNC today looking at various protein mixes and bars. Randomly this old guy about 60-70 maybe older told me i was wasting my time with this stuff and all it would do is get me fat....he reccomened picking up these vitamins pardon my spelling:
arganean (said take 1 or 2 a day) - up until today i've never heard of this vitamin ornathean (said take 1 or 2 a day) - up until today i've never heard of this vitamin l-lysime (said take 1 a day) He said that it would bulk me up faster and help with stength more than protein. (according to his experiences) I ended up not buying anything cuz i wanted to research these vitamins before buying $20 worth of protein. how much protein should i take in on a daily basis? on workout days and on recovery days? i weigh 135 pounds and am 5'6'' |
im curious too, i know protein wont really make you fat, you need it to gain muscle. but taking both might be better.
usually old people have their head so far stuck up their ass. my sisters professor was telling her class that you dont need soap to wash your car, just wet it and wipe it with a microfiber clothe, |

now back on topic, get the protein, ull need it, the pills u dont need but they could work, id take both if the pills are good |
i googled the other things, didnt come up with anything so found out how to spell it and research it
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/southfacts_lysine.htm i was told take in ur body weight in protein, so 135 grams for you if u want to bulk up u gotta eat like hell, im a hard gainer and been eating twice as much as usual and gained 5 pounds in a short time, its mostly fat though because i was eating mostly junk. try eating 3000-4000 calories a day for a week or 2 your best bet is to get plain 100 percent whey protein, taste like hell but its probaly the best thing out there, if u cant down it, mix it with peanut butter, ice cream, cereal or anything u can find to make it taste better. |
