Photoshop - text effect? How?
|
If I were to take a guess I would say they had the letters drawn/typed out and just used the picture of the car as a background fill.
|
here's my guess...
start with a blank canvas with a white background type the text out that you want to use in black layer -> flatten image select the text using magic wand or your preferred method edit -> stroke (using thickness and color you want the outline to be) *this is the secret sauce ingredient!* with text still selected, delete to leave transparent inside of the stroked outline you just drew pull image in as a layer below the outline you created fill the outside with whatever color you like let me know if that works, it should. |
muahaha. just using a photo on my work computer and the text available to me. the heavier the font the better for this type of thing, for obvious reasons.

how do you stroke? (lol)
it wont let me select it "stroke" |
you cant 'stroke' text, it has to be an 'image' or whatever its referred to. hence the 'flatten image' step before you get your stroke on.
you also must have something selected to stroke using one of the selection tools (like magic wand) |

Is that what we used, I wasn't sure if it was exactly the same actually.
|
Rather than flatten the image you can create the type layer, then control + click it in the layer window to select the type.
Go to select->modify->contract by however many pixels, ~25 is probably good with this selection you can create a mask for the image you want to place inside of it or just copy the image and choose paste into |
I figured out a way doing a mask it works way easier

all this 'way easier' talk when it took me about 30 seconds to do once i figured it out... but anyone who uses ps knows that there are about 100 ways to do everything.
