05suby 08-27-2008 07:02 PM

i want to but prob not, short on cash.

peteyturbo 08-27-2008 11:11 PM

Let me guess, EVERYONE here is watching?!? Is anyone racing?? It's supposed to rain friday I think. I think you guys should save your cars for the real event, but then again, no one shows up anyway..

TROLL 08-28-2008 01:11 AM

haha bill stepped up and came out tonight... and helped me bang out the sanding! i really didnt see that one coming but he's the man!

the bay isnt totally done and i would have more to do to be ready to paint, but the bad news is that as of tonight i dont have a painter any more :(. well... no rush to be 100% ready for saturday at least, although this is yet another wrench in the plan.
anyway... i should be able to come out now... and hell i'd even think about racing the subie. its got a wacked out alignment right now but hey it drives straight. my big concern though is its just got a bit of an initial tune by yours truly and i dont know if i feel comfortable banging through gears on it cause i'm still getting some knock here and there. i've only been doing 4th gear pulls so i havent really explored the full map yet.

wait, when is the 'real' event? hoping i have things a little more set by then...

peteyturbo 08-28-2008 01:37 AM

Real one is the 21st..And its good to see someone tuning they're own car:thumbup: But you need to work on the homesickness of your vehicles:bigeek:

real what is the 21st petey?

peteyturbo 08-28-2008 02:07 AM

Mitsubishi vs. subaru..Not the monthly friday one which sounds like a test and tune basically. It's the big one that used to be sponsored by turbotrix.

i'm driving to pittsburg and back tomorrow for 2 photoshoots... and i'll be doing it on 4 hours sleep. it is going to SUCK. and unfortunately no tuning tomorrow. on friday i'll do a bit of a test run incorporating the whole shifting thing and maybe even a launch to see if the car seems happy. the meth is still turned off but i'm not even ready to complicate things with that just yet. trying to keep it simple stupid for now. car feels good... but most anything should consindering that yesterday is the first time in months i took her off of wastegate pressure. she's at 22 psi now on 93 octane at 11.0 AFRs... i was getting a bit of knock at about 6k rpm but i think i finally massaged that out. we'll see though, havent really done much testing or tuning yet.

peteyturbo 08-28-2008 02:39 AM

Well it is definitely raining friday lol if it wasn't I would go too..If I were you I'd turn the meth on, and leave that tune the way it is and start a new one..If it is a progressive kit you should be able to have it fully dialed in an hour or so as far as afr's. Tuning for a progressive meth kit is just as easy as not but you want to keep an eye on the lower load cells depending on haw fast it comes on in realation to idc.

its an aquamist hfs-5... tracks injector duty cycle. my wg pressure is about 15.5 psi so i'm going to wait until i hit that pressure to trigger the alky to start spraying... need to get it all calibrated for the trigger point and failsafe still though. after that i guess i just need to decide what AFR i feel comfortable with and then see what kind of timing it likes. i'm taking baby steps though so even though it could be done quickly, it wont.
