thats not the way an NSX should be

where is the mid engine
why AWD?
why v10?

ugh

hondaguy215 07-20-2008 12:44 AM

Its going to be the gtr killer. Also maybe cause nobody really bought an nsx in the first place. Its time for a change. Maybe they shouldnt even call it an nsx.

BlkWhtTSI 07-20-2008 12:49 AM

i'm disappointed to say the least car doesnt look very exotic and why a front mounted v10 basically its an awd viper made by honda

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I'd compare it to.

V10 is awesome, Honda should have done that a while ago. The AWD I suppose is the best drivetrain setup for the engine placement, I'm sure the V10 sits as far back in the chassis as possible.

This car is gonna be awesome.

I'm not impressed with the exterior styling at all (it kinda looks like the result of mating a new Eclipse with a 350Z) but I do like the sound of a V-10 engine in there as well as AWD. That things looks sticky as hell zipping around that track!

The crazy looking paintjob is there to break up the lines on the car so you can't get a good feel of how it really looks. I'm waiting until I see real pictures of it before I comment about how it looks.

pinacup7 07-20-2008 01:04 PM

sweet can't wait to work on one of these

Loki240SX 07-20-2008 01:04 PM

Where's the NSX? Is it behind the Acura 350Z with a fat engine?

Dave 07-20-2008 01:08 PM

hmm looks like honda AND toyota are making the lf-a

jdm free 07-20-2008 01:17 PM

yea its a cool car. but honda should of stuck with a true nsx, mid engine rear wheel drive and something that looks exotic

sean3 07-20-2008 01:26 PM

Bit disappointed to see it's not mid engine but oh well. Honda knows what they're doing. V10 sounds nuts.

CleanNeon98 07-20-2008 01:48 PM

I think the biggest turnoff for me is the AWD..real sports cars should be RWD IMO with no power assist traction control ABS bull****

edit: 3 pedals and a gear lever are nice too...**** the SMG DSG semi-manual nonsense its like they are making sports cars for people who should not be driving them, taming the cars down so any hockeypuck that walks into the dealer and drive like senna used to just because of the technology

Got Insulin? 07-20-2008 02:45 PM

Cleanneon, I'm kinda surprised that we share the same sentiments. I totally agree with your {EDIT} notes. Three pedals and a shift lever are the ONLY things that should be available, it should be the driver's skill that define's the car's ability to "shift," pardon the pun, in to bals-out mode, not a computer that selects gears. Exotics like the NSX and others should stick to their roots instead of embracing the technology that makes their platform sink to the levels of the average person instead of the type of upper-classer that can afford to chirp the wheels on their $90K+ daily driver.

DPancoast 07-20-2008 04:47 PM

that was kinda lame.... I guess I'd have to see it in person

I would LOVE if my car didnt come with ABS...i mean if I want to lock my brakes, its for a ****ing reason, dont try to tell me otherwise

Hell if I had a choice I wouldnt have airbags either, id trade them off for bigger seat bolsters

BlkWhtTSI 07-20-2008 08:52 PM

in my opinion the manual gearbox is essencial to sports cars, everyone moving to this paddle shifting is stupid, if you want a sports car learn to drive stick jeez

*sigh*

No offense clean, but have you ever tried to put down 550hp without traction control? You'd have your ass end be your front end before you knew what happened. Plus, if it's anything like Honda's normal AWD setup, the car is RWD until it senses that it's starting to lose traction, in which case it will convert power to the other two tires in order to stabilize everything. I'm not positve on that, but it's how just about every production Honda AWD system is (although switched).

As far as the DSG style system it's for true racing enthusiasts. On the road course, the more time your hands are on the wheel the better. That's why Indy/F1/etc are paddle shifters, the technology is just starting to make it's way to the public that's all. Although I hope they come with a standard 6speed, I think I'll take a DSG 8 speed without complaint in that kind of car.

Honestly, I think this is all a step in the right direction for the NSX.
