Underglow question

I know a million questions have been asked about this already but I can not seem to find what I am looking for. If you are not in your automobile while the under glow is on in a parking lot can you get a ticket? For example if I park my car and go into my local supermarket while leaving them on for the duration of my stay then when I get back to the car shut them off is that a issue? Also I have heard that you can not get in trouble for under glow that is white in color. This was supported by that it is not a distraction and helps light up the road more so. I know in MD they passed a law that allows motorcycles to drive with under glow on so that they are more visible and less likely to be hit, but granted that is a motorcycle not a car.
Thanks in advance

This and headlight qustions are the two most asked that I get. As I have stated in the past only the lighting that comes stock on your car or is DOT approved can be on while you vehicle is in operation. Now the problem comes in on the officers Interpretation of operation. It could mean when the vehicle is moving or it could mean when the motor is running. I would say unless there is other trouble going on when you encounter the police you should have no problem if you vehicle is parked and not running when the underglow lights are on say at a car show or meet.
