Clubloose E-town Road Course Drifting and Super Sweet Car Meet - Saturday, July 12th

Clubloose Drifting Events

So you guys wanted it and we got them. We will be having 2 road course events this season.

The dates are July 12th and August 16th. These events are open to A and B group drivers. The cost is $100/driver. They're both Saturdays, so I don't want to hear any crap about not having sweet weekend events because this should make up for it.

The rest of the details will be finalized on Friday when Matt and I meet with the E-town guys to iron everything out. But we are on the schedule as of yesterday.

So the 12th is coming up soon, we need you guys spreading the word and telling everyone. This will be both a great spectator event and a great driver event, so we want everyone out there. There will be lots of driving and lots of people and it should be a good time for everyone. Bring your friends and families with you, bring everyone you know.

So all the A and B group guys, get your cars together, get everything set up right, get enough tires for the day and get out there. E-town is hooking us up on this event, so that means we need everyone out there to show them that we can pull the drivers and spectators needed to have more fun weekend events. If more drivers and spectators come to these events, we will have a much easier time getting more road course events and more fun weekend events in general. So tell everyone you know and make them come with you.

I don't want to hear any excuses about not knowing about this or not having a car ready. Just get anything together so you can drive.

I'll get a sweet flyer up soon and post it up here. Just start telling other people and posting on other forums and spread the word. The rest of the details will be posted here this weekend.

But just to sum it up:
Road Course Events
July 12th and August 16th
$100/driver, A and B group Drivers ONLY.

These will be day events, I just do not have the official starting and ending times yet. Probably something like 12-8 or something similar to that, maybe start a little earlier, end a little earlier, it will all be figured out on Friday and you guys will be the first to know.

the big boy track is finally open for busniess ...sweet!

Wiisass 06-26-2008 06:21 PM

Yeah, finally.

Now we just need a lot of driver and spectator attendance so we can get even more events. So spread the word, tell everyone you know.

I also really want all the Group C and people just interested in getting started drifting to come to these events. It will be a good learning experience and you can see how more experienced drivers do it. And hopefully it will be that extra motivation to really try and kill it at the Wednesday Event in July so you can get into group B.

Oh and media guys, get in touch with me if you want to get in on this. We're planning the track layout tomorrow with E-town and need to set up barriers for photographers. So if anyone wants to take pictures/video at this event, email me at clubloose@gmail.com and we can get everything setup.

Tim

Well have fun ripping tread on that course...it looks fun!:supz:

Rotary Knight 06-27-2008 09:01 AM

the 12th is a drift event. Group B are those that can consistently complete runs without spining and slowing the event down but dont have cages yet so they can't tandem. The road course can be unforgiving and the last thing we need is someone getting hurt.

Wiisass 06-30-2008 01:07 PM

Like Will said, these are going to be drift events.

I'm still waiting to hear back from E-town about spectator costs, but probably $15.

We're also looking for media guys. Once we decide on the track layout, E-town will be setting up some barriers for us. These will be good places for media people to be to take pictures/videos of the action in places that normal people can't go. So if you're interested, let me know and we can get you set up.

So mark the date, some to E-town and check out some of the best drivers and sweetest cars on the East Coast. There will be a lot of great drivers and a lot of awesome action to check out.

I might hit you up on the offer for the media pass, hopefully its better then the last event I went to where we couldn't get close enough to the action :(

Where else did you want to be? You could've been 40 feet from the outside of the big sweeper or on the side of the track or up in the grandstands getting some good shots. Where did you want to be that you could get closer to the action?

OutlawzPrez 07-01-2008 02:34 AM

Thanks for the info Wiisass. I have to make an attempt to go to these.

+1 Grip events would be nice

JasterM5 07-01-2008 03:26 PM

Guys, honestly, stop asking clubloose for a grip event. We are and always have been a grassroots drifting organization. If you want a grip event sign-up for autocross. There are plenty of events around.

Naw the last event I went to was when you guys had it at the Go cart track. Sucks there were no safety things in place where we could get out onto the track more.

I'll have to see if I can get the 12th off of work, if I can I'll shoot some one an Email regarding the media stuff.

Wiisass 07-01-2008 07:12 PM

I know which event you were talking about, it's the same one I referenced in my post. You were able to get pretty close to the action that day. Setting up barricades on the gokart track just isn't going to happen though. So that's the best you'll get over there.

On the road course, I'm not sure where barricades will be setup. It depends on how we decide to run the track.
