island dragway?
 

anyone on here ever go to island dragway? its a good time if you havent, friday night racing 7-10 or 10:30 $25 to race. went last week and got 5 runs in by 9:00

It must of been pretty backed because I've gotten in over 15 a night before.

no it wasnt at all, i didnt show up till 730 but i dont hot lap my car. i usually do 5 runs and thats it.

I've been to island a few times. they have great cheeseburgers.

lol the burgers are good. that is the only drag strip i have ever been on with my cars! and its only 30 mins from my house:) and 5 mins from my job

if anyone is going down wednesday night ill be there

From NYC: Rt 80 west to exit 19. Bottom of ramp make left. Go approximately 6 miles into Hackettstown, make a right onto Rt. 46 West (Main St.) and follow for approx. 7 miles. Entrance to the track will be on the right hand side, just past Cannonball's Go-Go.

From Phila./Trenton: Rt. 31 North to end. Right onto Rt. 46 East. Track is 6 miles on left, just past Nykun's General Store.

From Central Jersey: 78 west to Rt. 31 North. Rt. 31 North to end. Right onto Rt.46 East. Track is located 6 miles on left, just past Nykun's General Store.

From Allentown: Old Rt 22 East thru Easton into Phillipsburg, NJ. Pick up Rt. 57 East at East end of Phillipsburg. Rt. 57 East to Rt. 31 North (Washington, NJ). Rt. 31 to end. Right onto Rt. 46 East. Track is 6 miles on left, just past Nykun's General Store.

From Scranton, Pa.: 81 south to 380 east. 380 east to 80 east. Cross over Delaware Memorial Bridge into New Jersey. Take exit 4 for Rt. 46 east. Follow 46 east approximately 20 miles into Great Meadows. Track entrance is on the left, just past Nykun's General Store.

I took my ghia and my (former) 1987 Dodge Charger 2.2L there one weekend for test and tune just to see how well (or rather, poorly) i'd run, but it got rained out and we left. the ghia doesn't do well in the rain, and while I was driving it back to PA, we hit a big puddle, hydroplaned, and the fan (rear engine aircooled) sucked water into it and blew it through the heater channels into the car... blew the back seat off and everything. It was kind of like being hit in the back of the head with a wave at the ocean... I swear, I had about 1/2" of water on the floor of the car... that was 3 or 4 years ago and I'm still cleaning mud out of it.

i like atco better and its way cheaper...tue,fri nights 15 to run.

Its an ok track, but kind of far from me.

one of my friends wanted me to go with her a while back... i think i might actually go soon since i've never dragged my car

I'm within walking distance of Island. I'm there quite often to watch.

Im there practically every friday say hi if you see me haha.

I'm only up there to race at my club races. To far for me otherwise. Like the track a lot though....
