Downtown Philly: Missing a Mazdaspeed6
My car, a Bright Red 06 Mazda Mazdaspeed6 got towed/stolen from 17th and pine sometime in the past week. PPA doesn't have it, and police has no tow record. If anybody sees one around somewhere, let me know please?
speeder@infiniteboost.com Thanks |
Ouch, really sorry to hear that.
Call Lew Blum Towing...they're easily the largest towing company in the city. If it was parked illegally, they may very well have it. If not, file that police report before it's gone forever. Good luck man. |
called lew blum, they don't have it
car was parked legally, at a #1 meter with a #1 permit. Thing is, they put up the temp no parking signs up all the time so parking "legally" in phila is a stretch anyway unless you park in a garage. I filed a police report this morning.... Didn't call insurance yet since I'm going away for a week and won't have time to deal with this. |
car found (*moved*)
|
so where did you find your car and what happened?
|
Huh- You found it 2 weeks later?

glad ya found her... strange how local police had no knowledge of the move..
considerin that if anyone couldve been involved with the permission of the move for a shoot... it wouldve been them.. id be livid if that happened to my speed6.. |
Better check to make sure your driveline's not fubared, since it's an AWD car, and the idiots that moved it probably had no clue.

Hey everyone, first off, just wanted to say what up. New here, been watching for a lil while, pretty impressed with the site.
OP- I work in the Film industry in philly, used to freelance. I worked on the mark walberg movie "Shooter" that shot here a couple years ago... I was on Locations/Parking. We had put signs up for No parking, I guess some people didn't see them in time. When it was time to shoot, they just called in the tow squad and started hooking up cars left and right. I couldn't believe it. They took a VW awd SUV on a flatbed..... just moved it somewhere else and never notified the owner. LOTS of people were pissed. The police dept./towing is COMPLETELY in the back pocket of these big budget movie productions, they just throw money at the police so they get preferential treatment. The Owen Wilson/Jennifer Anniston movie is called "Marley & Me"... i've been working with them loosely at my work. In fact, i probably know the locations guy who had your car towed. And yeah, def check the drivetrain, chances are they just though it was a FWDer and didn't flatbed it or dragged it up onto the bed. |

LMAOOOOOOOOOO same thing happened to my friend. They went to a concert at the electric factory. It just so happened that night cops close a section of Spring Grden for some reason (could have been a movie). When the concert got out a shytload of people found their car missing. Luckily they spotted a tow truck driver and had the smarts to ask what happened. Turns out the cops had them all towed to a location down around Washington Avenue! Which, if you're knowledgable about the city, you know is easily a 25-30 minute walk, especially when intoxicated.
i would have been pissed!!!! |
