Rally-X at Grandview Speedway on Oct. 9th
 

Philly Region SCCA is putting on a RallyCross at Grandview Speedway, which is midway between Allentown and Pottstown on Oct 9. All the vitals here with a link to the registration form. http://www.phillyscca.com/courserally/index.html

This is a dry weather event. If it rains the night before or there is significant rain on Sunday, the event will be canceled.

Any car is welcome to enter, excluding SUVs and other high center of gravity vehicles. Summer tires are not permitted. All other details can be found by following the link above.

I will most likely be there taking photos and cheering on whoever is lucky enough to have a car that is set up for this type of fun. Anybody else?

What clasifies a tire as a summer?

summer tires, all season tires, snow tires, etc etc. are all rated from the factory. summer / winter tires are built specifically for their purpose and outperform a generic all season tire when used in the right conditions.
for example, summer tires are usually far better in moderate to warm temperatures in dry and wet weather than any all season could ever hope to be. however, they are unuseable in the cold temperatures of winter or in snow. so, if you have summer tires anywhere that has seasons, you'll need to switch them out for the winter. i have summer tires and snow tires :).
