God Bless the fallen in China.

I just watched a video from CNN, they interviewed a man who found his mother, father, wife and two children dead from the earthquake. My heart goes out to the fallen and suffering.

CHAOS 05-14-2008 12:22 PM

i wonder if they are going to refuse foreign aid like myanmar.

maybe this will be our chance to mind our own business when it comes to foreign affairs. either way its a shame that many people died.

Somehow I doubt that China would refuse help from us.

TROLL 05-14-2008 12:53 PM

really bad times between china and myanmar. i just read that myanmar is reporting death tolls as high as 127,000... i cant even fathom that.

CHAOS 05-14-2008 12:53 PM

i understand there is another cyclone headed for myanmar.

ToTheIX's 05-14-2008 12:59 PM

correct

ToTheIX's 05-14-2008 01:00 PM

in theyre case though, you cant help people who dont want help

TROLL 05-14-2008 01:06 PM

the people want help i'm sure, its their ridiculous government that wants to be completely closed off from the rest of the world thats turning us away. its kind of like the rest of the world assuming that we as individuals support everything that Bush has done in office... not really the case.
i had a very rare opportunity to visit myanmar a few years ago... their overly controlling government hadn't allowed 'tourism' in a long time and i'm honestly not sure if they do now either... it was a short but amazing trip, and i feel terrible for so many people there and in china who didnt have much to start, and now they have absolutely nothing.

I heard today that the land area affected by the quake was as big as the US. I can't even imagine. I refuse to watch the news too.... I font want to see the children and all that. My prayers are with them.

eviltalon 05-14-2008 02:00 PM

thats insane, R.I.P. to all the fallen

den9 05-14-2008 03:53 PM

the world is goin crazy lately

OBEEWON 05-14-2008 06:11 PM

Sad. Its only going to get worse.

R22B 05-14-2008 06:19 PM

I guess China got first in the Olympics for earthquakes?

Too soon?

Seriously though, its a shame to hear about this. Hopefully the death toll doesn't increase too much farther.

den9 05-14-2008 07:50 PM

the only reason the number is so high probaly is because there is like 100 billion people there

Yeah, it's sad when losing like .01% of the countries population is the same as losing 127,000 people.:(

DPancoast 05-14-2008 10:25 PM

what really is sucky is that they have money and food, and people, but no cranes and stuff to lift debris and move debris to find people.... man....
