underage drinking question
 

well a little over 2 months ago i was at a party with a bunch of people who were 21+ years old, and only like 5 of us were underage, and we were drinking. the cops showed up and looked at everyones ids and found that a couple of my friends and i are not 21 yet. they told us they would try to take it easy on us and not give us underages and that they would try to just give us a citation or disorderly conduct or something (which i was really happy about). now this all happened over 2 months ago and i still havent gotten anything. earlier this week the guy whos house we were at (who is 21) asked one of the officers if we were still getting anything or what was going on. i guess one of my questions is how long can they wait to give me something like this. im not trying to complain or anything, cuz im happy to only get a citation and not get an underage, but i just kinda want to get this all behind me.

how long can they wait to give me a citation or underage or whatever they're gonna give me? is there a time limit, or can just give it to me whenever? so if i dont hear anything about it for another month or so, should i feel good about it, or could i still recieve a citation or whatever?
