But some people seem to have no idea when taking photos... Nothing personal to the owner but here's a post from one of my F-body boards:

After that was posted some guys replied back saying how amazing of a photo that is, "DAMN!!!!!", etc. I don't understand? What am I not seeing? There's nothing special about the photo. It's not level, the lighting blows, especially on the front of the car. The hue is too blue. The house in the background is distracting. The street lamp top is poking out of the car. I mean, this is all my opinion but still... I dunno, I just wanted to see what other people (who know photography) think.

It definitely is personal opinion. I mean if you scroll through the Photo of the Month submissions, there's some great photos, some alright photos, and some.. well.. crap:

sounds like you may be getting a bit ahead of yourself... the general user does not always see the same things you see, just like when i look at paint on a car and see nothing but swirls and people drool over it...

yea i do have to agree there are some that are iffy. and a few that i think that are great.

Considering how many of the "Amazing" pictures you see on here that are just **** pictures photoshopped I am more impressed with that pic, despite it's flaws, then I would with some you may be impressed with.

That makes complete sense with the relation to the paint. Don't even look at my paint lol. I detailed at a few dealerships for 6+ years. All I notice on cars now are swirls, acid rain/water marks, small scratches and dings, etc. It's annoying!



At least I'm not the only one. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going insane. Well... at least not in that regard :lol: If one of the not so great ones makes it as a finalist, I'm going to be upset... but it's majority rules I guess.

The subject can overcome the composition, especially in public opinion. It's an LS1 forum, and that picture makes the Camaro look all badass and whatnot. If it were an art forum, of course it'd be another story.

i agree with you. i think the picture looks like crap. But yea, its allllll opinion. I still cant decide if i like HDR pics and whatnot but all i see is people drooling like mad over them. They are certainly different....but i cant decide.

That's not a bad picture if it really was not photoshoped. The composition might need some work, be at least it looks like he put more work into taking the photo itself rather then post processing it so much that the photo looks fake (Which seems to be the norm now).

i think the angle is good but the color on the car is just terrible. the sky looks good though. i think he/she should have taken more shots and then edited them by layer and make the true car color pop and keep the nice sky look. i could easily photoshop that street lamp to make it blend with the sky... he/she's a mess from what i see.
