wrongful ticket
I was coming home from a friends house a while ago and I pulled out of his drive way down the block stopped at a stop sign looked both ways pulled out and like a minute later I get pulled over and the cop says I ran the stop sign. I pleaded with the officer about how I didn't run anything and I did nothing wrong and he wrote me up a ticket and told me to have a good night.
Now I talked to a lawyer about it and he offered to do my case for 250 but i'd still have to pay w/e at court. I chose to go alone after he told me just what to do. I went to court and tried to explain to the prosecutor how I didn't even do what I got a ticket for and he wouldn't work with me about it. SO, I went the route my lawyer suggested which was pleading guilty to a lesser ticket with no points and a smaller fee. Again, he refused to work with me on it and said the only thing I could do was pay a 250 surcharge for no points AND the ticket. I could not afford the lawyer nor could I afford the 250 so I was pretty much forced to pay the fine which came out to 130 or so then get points on my license. How could this happen to me, I did nothing wrong and had to pay for it and unless I payed 250 for a lawyer I couldn't even argue my way out of the points without paying another 250. Is there anything I can do about it or did I simply get screwed over on this. Now I have to goto a class to get rid of the points. If it makes any difference I wasn't doing or driving anything illegal I was driving my 96 hyundai accent my get around car. |
IF what your saying is true, and I have no reason not to believe you. You were screwed.
