New Job

I need a new job as soon as possible. I can work whatever hours needed. I just cannot live on what I am currently making.

Anything over $8/Hr, and I can start whenever. I will call out of work for an interview if need be.

I have worked Retail/Customer Service for over 4 years, I have a 250 hr certification in Deep Tissue Massage, and I have worked basic construction.

I live in the Newtown, PA area, but I am willing to travel within reason.

Anyone hiring?

Scapegoat 03-07-2008 07:17 PM

you should take that certification and go look at some massage places

She has. Not many places take people under 500 hrs. Her school closed down, so she is looking for a place to work to make some money to be able to afford either going back or choosing a new career path.

ah, that sucks :-/

If she's cute, work at a bar. You'll make way more than $8/hr...

I forgot about that option. I guess I'll try that out. You don't have to be 21 to bar tend do you?

DigitalSlacker 03-08-2008 10:18 AM

I thought it was 18 to serve.

Scapegoat 03-08-2008 12:23 PM

yup, 18 to serve booze

I worked in a language call center in Willow Grove with no experience at all and it paid $11.50/hr. Also, I heard working as a bank teller is better pay than most and not stressful at all. I know they train you to do everything, so you're not going blindly.

www.snagajob.com works well too, just hound the businesses you apply at b/c sometimes they won't call you back. Or lately I've been getting lots of jobs from craigslist.

If you lived in CT I have a bank teller 30hr position for $12.00 an hour.

Scapegoat 03-08-2008 05:20 PM

and make sure you let us know what bar you'll be working at so we can have a "legal to drink" tst meet

Vypurr 03-08-2008 05:21 PM

I know a few girls who are bank tellers and they are able to rake in the cash. Telemarketing also usually starts at atleast 10/hr and there are lots of bonus's on top of that

where'smyturbo? 03-08-2008 05:49 PM

haha if i work at a bar... i wouldn't be able to legally drink. That would be fun though, TST meet where I work.

I had a great job that I was interviewing for, and they were showing favoritism towards me...
but the other girl got it because she isn't going to school in a year and a half, I am.
...So now I have to try other places.

yea my sister is a bartender and rakes in mad loot. especially on the weekends.

you don't want to be at a place that is going to hire someone they didn't like as much because they might be around in a year and a half... :screwy:

My interviewer loved me, the dentists were happy with me but were looking for someone more long term. (It was a Dental Assistant position, they would have to train me)

oh I understand. Its just I would personally rather have an employee who I know will work for a year and a half instead of one that.. who knows if they'll be here in a month or two.

Oh, and the bar meet isn't for you to drink... its for you to work, give us a break on the alcohol bill, and us make up for that in big tips :screwy:

Call any hospital and shadow as a massage therapist. Gain your hours for free and then you can get hired anywhere.

BlackBulletTSi 03-08-2008 08:39 PM

agreed last suggestion is very true.
