For those who feel helpless...

These poor people down south are dealing with so much... if anyone feels like donating, click here http://www.redcross.org/ - it's really easy and you can use a credit card.
As a friend of mine said, "If i can donate, so can you".
Thanks.

I'm trying to get a hold of my good friend in Pass Christian which is 10 minutes west of Biluxi. And I can't get in touch with him.

TehWagon 08-31-2005 11:32 AM

i'm sure the phone lines are just jammed with people who are concerned... i'm sure as soon as he can get in touch w/you he will- the whole situation just sucks...

max2k1 08-31-2005 05:00 PM

I sent money to some friends that live in Biloxi to help them out while their dad is over in the middle east

TehWagon 08-31-2005 08:20 PM

geez... talk about a double whammy... sorry to hear

sesolcSTI 08-31-2005 08:31 PM

Yeah, I dont watch the news, so i didnt know the horrible severity of it until a few days ago. To hear that the whole gulf coast is destroyed is insane! They said yesterday that they dont even know if they can repair one of the broke dams! The coast guard has already rescued 2000+ people! God knows what the final deathtoll will be. Its a shame! :(

TehWagon 08-31-2005 09:48 PM

wow... i didn't hear that one... i was just wondering if everyone could come up here where it's safe... just a matter of getting everyone out... so very sad...

I'm going to rant a little.

I was watching the news last night, and saw a story about how people are starting to break into businesses and steal things. This really pissed me off. Now, don't get me wrong.....if I lived down there and my family needed to eat, I would absolutely break into a 7-11 and steal some food. If they were soaking wet, I would break into a Walmart and steal some clothes. Stealing necessities is one thing.

Some assholes were breaking into casinos and trying to steal money. People were stealing appliances. People were stealing GUNS. People are starting gangs, and cops have gotten shot for trying to stop them. Seriously, WTF.

Families have been torn apart down there, and these ****suckers are taking advantage of the lack of law enforcement. Those are the assholes who should have drowned, the people that society could do without, not the genuinely good people who were trying to escape. This whole thing is ****ed up.

TehWagon 09-01-2005 12:11 PM

totally agree... it is horrible- check this link for more info on that topic

Silver04STi 09-03-2005 11:20 PM
