you're the second person i've ever known to have an s12. my friend has one but it's auto :(. those things are rare. kudos!

frosti108 02-18-2008 04:57 PM

^ haha yea... rare via ugly hahaha but they kinda have a really cool look to them

well after work ill try to button it up so you can check it out in exton sometime (maybe tonight)

Metalhedd 02-18-2008 05:00 PM

thatd be cool. i'll try and make it out to exton tonight. yeah gotta love the old nissans that are hard to find though. i drive an 86 5spd maxima.

frosti108 02-18-2008 05:08 PM

wait are u the one that showed up with dan at sports authority? grey old school v6 maxima with a bad motor mount?

Metalhedd 02-18-2008 05:19 PM

yup that was me. haha

frosti108 02-18-2008 05:43 PM

your max is hella pimpin. best maxima front end (like a cressida) i think we might have the same steering wheel too hahah

well im still at work, about to leave. but wait what is this...? HAIL / the sky just dumped hail like crazy. one second its like mid 60s, next second theres hail. nutty ass weather. well if u guys are trying to meet up tonight just post up im going home to work on my car

Metalhedd 02-18-2008 06:42 PM

yeah dude this meet isnt looking hopeful. its pretty damn wet and rainy out. :(

frosti108 02-18-2008 07:52 PM

yea i got home and said screw workin on the car in the rain... and by the time it stopped raining it was dark so the s12 is still immobile

Metalhedd 02-18-2008 07:58 PM

yeah sucks it had to rain. whats wrong with the s12 anyway?

frosti108 02-18-2008 09:27 PM

i recently bought the car with no maintnance records so who knows when the timing belt was last done. so i changed it out. also the temp wasnt rising too much on the gauge so i figured the thermostat was bad so i got a new one. i got the timing belt in, covers on, crank pully on. timing cover andcrank pully got a little rust repair and paint. now just have to put in the thermostat, rad hoses, fill up coolant, put on alternator and power steering belts... thats about it.

then when i can i want to put in this headunit i got from dan, do an oil change, find and fix bad electrical connections (making the car randomly run like crap) put in new spark plug wires... lots of stuff to do... oooh and i bought this maf cleaner i wanna try on it ahhaha

Metalhedd 02-18-2008 09:31 PM

yeah chances are with the occasional random bad running, my car has the same problem, im guessing it probably just needs a new distributor cap and rotor, im gonna throw new plugs and wires in while im at it.

frosti108 02-19-2008 12:15 PM

im guessing its due to bad electrical connections. places of interest would be the connections for the throttle position sensor, air regulator valve, maf.... all of these wires and connectors are very old, and i think if you undo them and look inside youll agree  probly all corroded and ugly. then everytime they get shifted and moved around in the car while driving, theres a different level of connection and the cars bahavior changes. hence the randomness of the whole thing...

but idk. theres a lot of possibilities. all i know is that the plugs cap and rotor have all been changed out. so that leaves me with spark plug wires, maf, tps, and all wiring connections.

but back to the exton meet. how is friday lookin to everyone
