where my skaters at?

hey guys, just joined the site. I gave a little intro in the welcome section here.

So who skates out here? I moved to PA from jersey last year and have only met a couple guys over at penn skate on mcarther rd. I just finished building a mini in my garage and it's lonely. All my friends from jersey got old, got married and had kids and all I still want to do is get my grind on. In the summer I take pretty regular trips to concrete parks like FDR, owl's head in brooklyn and sayreville in jersey. In the winter I ride at Blue Mtn (down the road from my new place) and skate the indoor mini, which has a wood burning stove next to it so it's always nice and toasty.

oh yeah, I also like to work on cars and drink beer. :partyman::supz:.

I used to skate a lot when I was younger. I still have a board, but I haven't skated in at least a year and a half.. I'm looking to pick it up again.

hey man! by skate you mean skate board right? i dont know anyone that rollerblades anymore lol Anyway if so i work at a skate/bmx/print shop called synergy (stop by sometime, im sure you'll like it), we have 2 sponsored skaters. Anyway is your mini in your garage bike friendly? if so im down for a session lol im sure i have other friends and skateboards that would be down also. Im always looking to meet new riders plus i have 0 experience on mini's and anything close to vert so id like to try without taking a spill infront of the world.

well doug if you didnt have a peg leg maybe you would have road a bike instead of skateboarding, sorry bikes take two legs to peddle rather then one to skate board.

doug 02-15-2008 09:03 PM

you use both legs to pick up speed ya dope... its called bending your knee and weight transfer to get more speed :P

I need to get back down to FDR really badly.. I mean it's only like 20 minutes away.

I use to board and BMX, but my body had enough abuse. I only know penn skate, thats it, mainly cause its like 2 secs from my house. West Chester has a few good spots.

Honduh 02-15-2008 09:11 PM

I ride bmx, and I can kinda skate a tiny bit.

I'll be down for bmx sessions in the summer.

amit 02-15-2008 11:37 PM

I have not skated in awhile. Last time I tried to "start again" I made a little video of all switch and nollie tricks.

Check it out if you like...I'm really bad though...

Yes, yes, skateBOARD.

Sweet. So where's synergy?

As for the mini being bike-friendly... sorry bro, but I'm gonna have to say no. It flexes pretty good when some of my "larger" friends skate it, so I have a feeling a bmx would beat it up pretty good.

Erik 02-16-2008 12:04 AM

I used to BMXDirt, Im trying out flatland now. its a lot ****ing harder than it looks lol

here's a little vid I put together from the first few sessions on the new mini.

http://www.andywdesign.com/miniramp.mov

The file is kinda big so it might take a little while to start playing. (btw, andywdesign.com is my online portfolio - I'm a graphic/web designer and illustrator)

I've skated pretty much my whole life. Not to much mini ramps or vert. I'm a street skater. I used to skate Love park/Downtown Philly all the time.
