Google Street View

Kinda cool but creepy at the same time.

That is sweet, but I don't like the fact that i can actually zoom in on my own address plate on my mailbox.

I know this isn't the trash talk thread in the garbage bin, but thats pretty much the most useless, dumbest ****ing thing I've ever read. Maybe you should have said "welcome to six months ago," but I'd still think you're an asshole.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who didn't know about it.

Roadkilled75 02-14-2008 09:25 AM

The folks at jalopnik have found 3 or 4 crashes caught on Street View cameras. Pretty funny.

I'm sure my great grand father didn't know about it... but he's been dead for 6 or so years.

I wanna know the undertaking of a project like this...

How many people were out running around with cameras and notebooks?

i checked out a lot of locations across the country last night, just out of curiosity. when i checked out my own neighborhood, i was able to angle the picture down towards the street and see a car underneath with all kinds of equipment in the rear windshield, so i imagine its all recorded with gps and a new picture is taken every few seconds. pretty sweet.

How the hell did you do that?

I couldn't' get that to do it on my location...

DoubleOughtCel 02-14-2008 01:04 PM

It wasn't in every location I looked at either. In fact, the only place I did see it was in Bensalem.

i've actually seen this car go by while i was on ccp's campus. its some old sedan with a bunch of equipment tied up to the roof including 4 camera's facing each direction. this must have cost a whole lot to pay for equipment, gas for all these cars to drive all over the US, and the people needed for such a project.

Chris215 02-14-2008 02:45 PM

oh wow, I can see my car haha

den9 02-14-2008 05:58 PM
