Auto glass repair or replace?

Ok, so my brother recently got a crack in his windshield. He drives a '07 nissan murano. He noticed it one morning, used his wipers thinking it was water or something. Then he drove off and next thing he knew, the crack grew longer. It's about 10 inches long.

My question - Is this crack fixable or would he have to replace the entire windsheidl?

Anyone know prices for either kind of work?

the rule of thumb i always go by is, if its smaller then a quarter it can be fixed.

and just a guess, but i'd say about 400 to replace the whole thing.

if you call safelite auto glass, they come to your place and put it on the car, and it should be around $200 give or take. maybe a little higher, depends on the vehicle.

I used Diamond Auto Glass repair. I got a new windshield for $250. They even came to my house and did it in front of me. Took about an hour and a half.

Well I was talking to him the whole time, since I don't trust anyone I don't know near my car. The guy ended up being really chill and we talked about cars the whole time. I didn't mind slowing him down. It was a good chat:mrgreen:

Yeah I want to get a rear STi windshield in my car. Theyre about 4mm thinner than the WRX ones and wheigh a TON less (really, youd be surprised.) I was thinking about trying myself, figure I cant mess it up too bad. Worst case I have someone fix it to do it right. You can get the kit for like $20 bucks. Im sure with a little research it shouldnt be that bad... right?

talk about stealthy weight reduction. goodluck with that.
