Stock vs Stock 08 si vs 08 wrx

George and i were wondering what would happen and we honestly don't know so what does everyone think. He was saying from a roll cause he doesn't wanna launch. So let me know what you all think.

D Money 12-30-2007 03:53 PM

wrx all day.

Snoozie 12-30-2007 04:26 PM

youre gonna get killed.

for the sake of comparison.

05 wrx stock vs stock RSX S, RSX got walked from a 20mph roll.

ps this is keith not susie lol.

foss 12-30-2007 04:32 PM

WRX. numbers don't lie.

D Money 12-30-2007 04:41 PM

I feel like this is feeding into the prank. I can never tell with Barry, he could be pulling one over our heads here. lol

Numbers? Wrx has a very slight advertised power to weight advantage(14.2 lbs/hp vs 14.65) that is probably easily offset by greater drivetrain loss. From a roll, most definately a driver's race. From the hole- different story.

Whoops didn't read from a roll. In that case, I'd say the civic would walk it with proper driving

Agreed. Wrx with roughly 3100lbs rated at 224 hp and 226 ft/lbs torque vs Si with roughly 2900lbs with 197 hp and 139fl/lbs. From a roll its all about drivers. It be a good race.

420sx 12-30-2007 06:38 PM

I think the WRX will nudge it out, even with a less skilled driver. The new SI's aint ****... too heavy to be fast with 197hp and no torque.

namdoogwerdna 12-30-2007 06:41 PM

Barry is lighter than George so I'm gonna say the Si

TROLL 12-30-2007 06:43 PM

all other things equal i dont see how the civic could possibly keep up. dont forget that the new wrx is rated at 230 crank hp from the factory, but it makes about 230 whp totally stock with almost the same torque meaning its severly underrated, and leaps and bounds ahead of the civic.

Honduh 12-30-2007 06:46 PM

Probably the wrx since the Si is torqueless, but the Si wins looks for sure...

Action Park 12-30-2007 06:50 PM

^Properly driven, low end is a non factor in a race from a roll. Properly launched, from a dig as well. The torque # is meaningless in a drag race.

I could tell as soon as drove it, it had underrated stock numbers .. my R dynoed 223hp to all 4 wheels and the wrx feels faster.... but it being a lot lighters helps too... I think they did that so it wouldn't compete as much with the sti with its 40k price tag and the wrx with its 29k sticker

streetAssasin96 12-30-2007 07:49 PM

it will be close but the rex will yank on him in the end.

S4toSTI 12-30-2007 08:32 PM

Yeah i am not saying i can beat him we were just talking about it thats all.

JBWRX06 12-30-2007 08:56 PM

i m gonna say the wrx

ReVision 12-30-2007 09:38 PM

Idk I mean the civic has VTEC and the WRX is turbo...basically the same thing right? haha JK

The funny thing is somebody actually said that when they were comparing a turbo V6 to a honda haha.

I honestly think the WRX will take it by 5 car lengths or more.

gpzjack 12-30-2007 10:07 PM

couple of vids on youtube...looks like wrx?
