Im getting a good, (not those crappy fake overwatted hid lookalike bulbs) pair of H1 100w 12v bulbs. anything i should look out for?

just get whatever is cheapest.

a lot of audi guys rock them and have no complaints...let me know, and ill hook you up with the site.

they have a wide range of bulb sizes as well as 3000k to 12000k color temps. you seem like you would want something more oem, so i would say 4300k would fit your style.
