FlyWheel rattle

I have a mitsu eclipse gst and a while back i got my tranny rebuilt and everything was fine when installed but a couple miles later my flywheel started to rattle and make loud noise at idle and i lift my car up to look to see whats wrong and my ring around my flywheel is off! so i unloosin the three screws that hold it down and i add thread locker the red stuff and so i turn the car on and it still makes the rattle noise. im thinking that i could get it welded please let me know what to do thanks chris

I cant think of any "ring" with 3 screws on the flywheel......? I know in some cases the Inspection plate on the tranny will rattle if you still have it on the car. What kind of clutch and flywheel are you running?? It could be chatter, or maybe the T.O.B. making a bunch of rattle. If you are certain its the flywheel, pull the tranny and make sure those 7 bolts holding it to the engine are tight as well as the pressure plate to flywheel bolts. The only Ring i can think of is the starter ring on the flywheel but it does not have screws on it.

i have the slowboy 3500 racing clutch and the fidanza 11 pound flywheel i guess that it is the starter ring im not sure but when it comes off the car wont start it will just make the shinggggg noise

Yeah, that is the starter ring gear. After thread locking it, it is still loosening up?

yes it is and it very annoying do you think that i could go get it welded?

I dunno. Never heard of anyone welding a ring gear on. It would be tough to do it and keep it finely balanced. I would either contact Fidanza and worst case replace the flywheel with something like an ACT with a one piece design.
