Pics of the Ice storm on December 15th/16th
 

The pics are from driving back up to school, at night it turned into a snow / blizzard like conditions in between altoona and Johnston. It went from rain and then 10 - 15 miles later, 8" of snow on the highway and people all over the place slid off the road and stopped. Visibility was the car in front of you... at times you could see the taillights in front of them. This only lasted for probably 15-20 miles but it took forever because of having to go around 15 mph, I almost went off the road once following the jeep in front of me who did go off the road into the center grass median because wind picked up and we couldn't see. I stopped I think 4 times to clean the windshield off because the wipers were just packing the snow at the side and bottom.


The storm knocked out power in our area until late Monday night.





Anyhow, here are the pics from the day time... the camera used is a Canon PowerShot S2 IS 5.0mp. Most of the pictures were taken while driving... I should have stopped for a few of them... I think they would have turnt out even better! There is some editing to the pics done, if anybody would like the full size pics for desktops or anything, the links are above the pictures...

5 and 6 are really cool.

Awesome pics... I hate the North East. I was going to move to San Diego with a buddy but his place burnt down, stupid kids with matches!!!

#7 looks like aimshouse road in bucks county.

Cool pix. I wish I had taken a few out this way. We got hammered by pure ice. No snow, just 3/8" of ice covering everything. I have never seen so many trees and branches down.
