Another Autocross Video - Ripken Stadium 11-4-07

Went to the Autocrosser's Inc. Event #4 this past weekend and had a blast as always. It's nice to have the serious part of the season finished so that you can get a few "fun" events in to finish the year off. No more worrying about class points, just good clean fun and spending more time hanging out with people...the reason I got into this stuff.

Anyways, couldn't keep things as together as I would have liked. It was quite chilly this weekend, especially during the first heat. Needless to say, cold tires, cold surface, and dirty surface does not make for good grip. I was fighting oversteer all day and couldn't put together as fast a run as I wanted, but still managed a 49.3 which was good enough for 1st in STX and 21st in PAX, although a high 48.x where I should have been would have put me into the mid-teens. But such is life and definitely had fun as always.

Since there's not much else I can learn from the car in the last event of the season since it's getting an overhaul this winter, I'll be running Aaron's SM beast this weekend. I have a feeling that a turbo and 265 R-comps is going to be fun.

Looks like a decent course for Ripken. Looks like they took you right on through the Ripken speed bumps in that one section hahah.

Gotta get yourself setup earlier for those slaloms. You looked quite a bit behind going through those sections. That new shock and spring setup is going to help you a ton. I loved my Koni's. It looked like those Tein's are severely underdampened from watching the vid.

Yeah, I suck at teh slaloms. Also, the B15 doesn't transition very well and at this event in the cold I was fighting oversteer a bit and trying to be cautious...which of course means I was going slow enough to be in the right position. I still have tons of driving and learning to do, but the new wheel/tire spring/shock setup should help a ton.

For reference Adam, the Teins are 6k f/r (about 325lbs) with no damper adjustment vs. the Koni Yellow/Ground Control setup where I'll be trying 450/500/550 lbs. springs. Car weighs around 2,650lbs and I'm going to test the higher rates in the rear first and see what happens. Should be a long year of testing and learning to drive. :o
