Cell Phone Help !
 
one day i dropped my phone.. on my way home from work.. looked at it a couple minutes later and it was in some weird password mode.. i tried to guess the pw and now the sim card locked itself.. i donno if there is any other way to deal with this other than call Cingular up, wich im goin to do.. just wonderin if this has happend to anyone else and if u can actually do something about it... thanks

if you can get to the menu in your phone, under security settings there is a sim lock option. if you remember what you typed in, it should unlock it for you.

what happens if you turn the phone off then off again? does it give you an option to unlock the sim? seems weird that you cant access it to unlock it.

same thing happend to me, told them what happend. they asked for my cell number, gave it to them, and gave me a new sim card...for free.:mrgreen:

sweet...

but nah i tried turnin it off and all, switchin phones yada yada.. im calling tomaro after work.. right now im usin the work phone so its not a big deal.. thanx for the input

i walked into the cingular store in the mall and told them what had happend. gave them my number and what not. the scanned the card into their computer, and handed it to me. by this time i had reached in my back pocket, and i was like, how much do i owe you? the guy said "nothing". i was like dude...this is ****in awesome and left.

my friend just did this on her phone. you really don't need a new sim card. u guessed the wrong password on the simcard itself and its locking itself out. u need a special code from cingular to unlock the simcard. i guess a new simcard would work but seems like more work then just makin a call.

i called cingular, and they told me just to get a new sim card
