Autocross Update: 10/20 Ripken Stadium with Video

Now that the D.C. season is over, it's time to stop worrying about points and just have fun. Autocrosser's Inc. held an event this past Saturday at Ripken Stadium down in Aberdeen, MD...5 minutes from our new home. :D

The course was nice, a mid 40 second course. The other thing that was nice was my nemesis from the Northeast Divisionals showed up, Steve Seguis in his very nice looking and well prepped RSX-S. I beat Steve by a tenth on Day 1 and he beat me by about 2 tenths on Day 2 to beat me out that weekend. Now was a good chance to see if I had any improvement.

First run was a DNF as I stopped looking ahead and missed a slalom entry cone. No biggie, 3 more runs to go. After our second runs, I was sitting on a 47.212 vs. his 47.273. Nice close one. After third runs I pulled out a nice clean run of 46.499 vs. Steve's 46.713. Still pretty close. This would be my fastest clean run and good enough to take the STX win as Steve had no improvement on his final run. On my final run I managed to pull out a nice 46.150, but unfortunately knicked one of the cones in the finish gate...the last possible cone I could have hit! Oh well. Ended up 30th in PAX out of 125 competitors, although would have been 25th PAX if I hadn't hit that stupid cone. :mad:

Oh well, 3 more events left on the year to try and not suck. :p
