So anyway we had one come in to be parked today, and out main entrance was blocked by a cab so I had to take it the long way around the block to get it into the garage. It was automatic, had the factory boost guage. I decided to give it a little go and see how it was. For an auto it pulled really nicely, I actually couldnt even put my foot all the way down to the floor cause I didnt want to be going too fast. Corners great, nice stereo, etc.etc. I talked to one of the valet guys the other day and he suggested I get a bugeye as my next car, so I was just wondering a few things cause now that im making awesome money, I can get rid of my hopeless honda and have something nicer

How are they reliability wise. He said that there were a few kinks on the bugeye that were worked out with the next generation impreza

What is the aftermarket for them like??

Do they use the same motor as the 04/05 wrx??

What are prices for these basic mods, if they can be done??
1. Exhaust
2. Intake
3. STi intercooler
what are some other things that subaru people do to these cars from the start? I asked him if the car has potential and he kinda looked at me and laughed and said "hell yea"

Just want to get a bit more information about the car cause even for an auto, I was very impressed with how the car felt, and the seats were fantastic as well. Thanks guys

If you were serious about getting one, I would do a turbo-back exhaust, chip it, and call it a day. Look up a company called Cobb Tuning. More people will be able to give you technical details about them, there are plenty of bugeye owners here. One major issue with them is the transmissions. If you don't beat on it you will be okay, but one of my friends has had one since new and he's on his third tranny.

depends what you mean beat on it...the only reason i "beat on" my car is because I sometimes have to really push it to get the power i want, it wont be the same with the subie, and im not all about shooting all over the place. Il usually just slowly get up to my desired speed and cruise it, but if I cant put my foot down every once in a while without throwing something in the trans thats a problem.

It's not so much a problem of being able to "Put your foot down", you just cant slam gears and beat on the tranny...

well now I know I will NEVER let anyone valet park my car, especially since you were considered FLOORING IT!
I rarely floor my car, much less let anyone else do it, even less want a ****ing valet driver to do it!

They don't offer any aftermarket parts for them. I have never seen a bugeye that was done up crazy, so it leads me to believe they don't make many parts for them.

haha...i usually just sit back and read these things by him....but this is nuts...this whole forum is bugeye owners...with tons of mods done...but you know what...i agree with subwrxkid...i really dont think they have any potential...lolllll

in 3 days I made 338 dollars and still have today to work...I used to make 200 a week at walgreens

What do you guys mean you cant beat on the tranny?? I heard the WRX has a "glass" tranny that breaks very easily before but i want to know for sure
