A friend of mine was there, he said it was insane. Apparently a nitrous backfire?

Nitrous isn't flammable.

True, i heard that the guy had been having some kind of problems with the motor prior to the race so whatever it was could have been the cause of this and not so much the nitrous.

i was there not this past friday but the one before. and a muscle car nearly hit a mustang crazy.

What does that have to do with it? Backfiring in the intake manifold can easily rupture fuel lines. There's alot of ways this car could've burned down if it had a nitrous backfire.

My friend said he was in the staging lanes when it happened. He said that the owner didnt turn off the car after it happened. So that would explain why it burned so much.

Ouch.
